New York City sends a lot of people to Congress. Some of them may be starting
to wonder why their constituents died on September 11.

September 18, 2002 -- WASHINGTON - Congress yesterday approved broad
new investigative powers for the feds to help determine exactly why the Twin
Towers collapsed...

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-Brooklyn) noted that NYPD officers confiscated
videotape of the scene, infighting beset several agencies and 80 percent of the
steel was immediately sold off as scrap metal.

I wonder what they're going to do when they get to WTC 7 which collapsed
without being hit by a plane? The first fire proofed steel frame building to
collapse 'due to fire' ever.



Speaking of investigations...

"The terrorists turned the transponders off, so we couldn't track them."

"It took a long time to inform the Pentagon that the planes were off course."

Bullshit.

"The FAA and Air Defence are not well coordinated with regards to dealing with
errant commercial air traffic."

"It's been so long since we had an air incident, we didn't know what to do."

Bullshit

"The idea of hijacked jetliners being used as weapons was unthinkable."

Bullshit

"There was no way that military jets could have gotten to the scene in time to do
anything."

Bullshit.


NOTHING that was said about the 9-11 attacks in the initial weeks after the
event has turned out to be even remotely true. But there sure was a well
developed line of bullshit in place and ready to dish out to the public, wasn't
there?
