Dear American News Media:

I address this to FOX News, CNN, and MSNBC in particular and to the rest of the News Media in general.

I just wanted to say that if Bush is a modern Hitler as the Germans have so foolishly insinuated, then you MUST be the ministry of propaganda. Joseph Goebbels could not have, in his wildest dreams, come close to what you guys do on a daily basis. The way your "company" daily trounces the ideals, upon which such stuff as the constitution was wrought from and for, never ceases to amaze me.
Let me get something straight here; I was taught all throughout grade school that a person was said to be innocent until proven guilty in a COURT OF LAW; that this was one of the most enlightened benefits of the greatness of our society. The last time that I checked you were not a court of law; yet you can sell the public "Court TV" in preference to the real thing with the savvy of a well-versed snake-oil salesman. The havoc that your reckless form of journalism has caused is sure to be the source of so much more suffering in the very near future and yet, I cannot forsee you ever having the integrity to admit this.
The way that you had those three gentleman of Middle Eastern complexion "sold up the river" last week was a remarkable
achievement in itself. The assumptions, the allegations, the innuendo...and there wasn't even anything to it!!! ...Such rhetorical force, would have, a mere 80 years ago, been more than enough to motivate the lynching party into action. It is not "Eunice" who should be held responsible for the loss of dignity that those gentlemen suffered, so much as yourself for your pre-emptive and careless (or should I say careful) work. Ah, but you can smugly, and with a peculiar form of self-righteous indignation, hide behind "freedom of the press." I would remind you (and everyone else) though, that those rights were not guaranteed to you. After all, you are a for profit corporation, and as such, have no constitutional rights whatsoever. You can NOT, by virtue of what you are, represent the common interest of the common people, so much as a calculated and diabolical agenda and at a hefty price I'm sure. What are your ad rates going for these days?
The right to "Freedom of the Press", as well as several other vanishing but noble notions, was guaranteed to ME, and yet it is I who am nearly silenced in the face of such an overwhelming perversion of "Freedom's" intent.
Let us review what we have witnessed these past few days. You have already all but built the gallows for Ms. Toogood. What a HORRIBLE person she must be, to treat her child like that ...allegedly speaking of course.
Yet, this is constantly interspersed with scenes of the Gaza strip, as the sound of my television drones on with the steady, monotonous rhythm of the war drum, as you so persuasively manipulate the mob mentality of this country to go and, for the first time in this nation's history, take out that terrible, terrible man, Saddam what's his name, WITH A PRE-EMPTIVE STRIKE. It is so tragically sad that you fail to mention that the use of such PRE-EMPTIVE FORCE isn't so much going to be leveled against him, as it is those poor people (and I do mean to include Iraqi WOMEN AND CHILDREN) who have already been victimized, not only by Saddam's regime, but by our schemes for MORE, MORE, MORE OIL ...and let us not fail to mention our heavy, left handed humanitarian aid.
I guess it's worthy National News for one mother HERE to be seen striking her child, but it is OK to kill thousands or even millions of children when it is in the interest of protecting the monopolies of a few rich fatheads. Furthermore, it is so inevitable that we really will not be privileged to see the violence and hardship that our tax dollar$ will have bought us. (Maybe that is something for "pay for view.") The one thing I don't get though is the camera angle on Ms Toogood. I have seen footage of her and her child, a woman and another child who is unmentioned and un-named walking across the parking lot ...while a camera follows them. Nothing seems amiss. Then, APPARENTLY, a few moments later that camera is covering her car. This does appear to either have been staged or some type of twisted voyeurism. Why didn't the cameraperson stop filming and go down there and stop her? The only reasons I can come up with were A.) There wasn't time, even though there was time to get PLENTY of damning footage or B.) The almighty STORY would have been lost, and you could not have completed the mission of convincing us that we cannot be trusted with our own children without your watch dog eyes and the government's compelling force. Yet, if I am to be honest with myself, I can only say that I saw a woman making striking motions, and could not CLEARLY see what she was striking, and could certainly not ascertain the cause of such behavior. I thank you for clearing this up for me.
Meanwhile this country's "security agenda" spins crazily with every ill wind that bloweth from its capital; but who needs a conscience when there is a pay check to be had?
We all witnessed the horror of what is now known as September the 11th. Your cameras were there and rolling; and I would like to add that I really don't think that Stephen Spielberg could have done a better job under the circumstances. Having seen that movie made in the 70's called "Network", I have an idea of the kind of pressure you were up against to produce results.
I was so impressed when the buildings fell with such a perfect, downward precision that a casual observer, had they not actually SEEN the plane crash into the building, could have sworn that they were taken down by a demolitions company. (Sort of like the one that won that big CONTRACT to clean up the mess and, according to some "uninformed" or, worse, "unpatriotic" observers, bury the evidence. I have to admit though that I felt some acute pang when I was informed that it was the same company that "cleaned" up the Oklahoma City evidence. Those CIA contacts must really pay off!! ;-)
Those "Terrorists" were really on it that day. A lucky blow I guess. No, I stand corrected, TWO ...THREE lucky blows!!! Murphy must have been napping.
There is a really great saying that goes something to the effect that if you want to know what kind of tree you've got growing in your yard, you have only to look at its fruit. So I am going to attempt to follow this convoluted story line here:

A. The "terrorists" knock down the largest building that they can find (and a SYMBOL of American Capitalistic power to boot), and do substantial (but repairable) damage to not just a military building, but a SYMBOL of military might. (How much did Mr Silverstein collect again? Do you think that he will be able to help Israel build that Trade Zone he was negotiating with them prior to the event?)

B. The media tells me (and everyone else) that the "terrorists" are connected to a man named USAMA Bin Laden.

C. The media tells me (and everyone else) that he's in Afghanistan (where those problematic Taliban
just HAPPEN to have been holding up that badly NEEDED OIL pipeline ...when they weren't busy beating their women).

D.We go after bin Laden, don't find him, but get that little Taliban problem resolved. Hopefully, the oil will be flowing soon enough. (and I am truly thankful that the ladies are going to get to go out and work and be productive now.)

E. We then shift our attention back over to that old standby scarecrow, Saddam. Now, HE's responsible for the terrorists. (Does this mean that we should acquit bin Laden, or is it that, since the two men have the same color skin and live in roughly the same part of the world, and confess the same religion, they must be in cahoots and even bosom buddies? ) It is odd that we FEAR his possessing weapons of "mass destruction" and reserve this for a possible justification for using ours. By the way, where did he get the technology and the money to develop these weapons? (Oh yeah, American drug dealers selling pot to American school children.) We are the only country to have ever used the biggest weapon of "mass destruction" of all.

...The thing that I find so disturbing about it all is that OIL keeps coming up in the turmOil. Our president, you know, the one that got into office by a hanging chad (in the state that his brother just happened to have been Governor) ...he's an oil guy with relatives who were once well known to have financed Nazis (maybe that's why he flinched when the Germans dropped the "H" word. ...but I bet he didn't flinch as much as those Japs did when we dropped the "A" word ehh?)
I have had to wonder about the "Oil Men". For some reason, I find it worrisome that it is generally not a consideration that, perhaps, the delicate ecological forces that shaped this rather fragile existence had some other agenda for oil; something OTHER than powering the automobiles of consumers. (Consumer is such an interesting word isn't it? I equate it with that mentality that has the attention span of about the length of a Television ad.)
But I digress. I was, after all, holding my mirror up. Its the last thing that I have to offer you in return for this FINE ENTERTAINMENT. I wanted you to know what I see; and it leaves me wanting to congratulate you. I do not see random, careless signals, or a nation's fate cast to the mercy of foreign "terrorists"; but a diligent, earnest, premeditated effort on your part ...to report just the facts ...a performance if you will. So pat yourselves on the backs and give yourselves a raise. You have done what the Nazis or Russians could not do. You have reduced the ideals that made America great to a distorted, nearly unrecognizable rubble. You have turned us into a nation of rubbernecks ...and not just any kind of rubberneck mind you; but the angry, greedy, cowering, self-righteous kind. I cannot, for the LIFE left in me, understand why the rest of the world casts such dubious and uneasy glances our way. So behold this mirror while I LIVE. A mirror shows the word backwards and LIVE spelled backwards is EVIL.
