We are offering an exciting opportunity for a select group of individuals to join GridAmerica LLC as we launch this first-of-its-kind Independent Transmission Company (ITC) in the United States.

GridAmerica, managed by National Grid — the world's largest independent transmission company — expects to debut in April 2003, as a regulated, for-profit, independent transmission company. GridAmerica will operate the transmission systems of Ameren, ATSI and Northern Indiana Public Service — comprising 14,000 miles of transmission lines across 46,000 square miles in five states within the Midwest ISO.

We are looking for a number of highly experienced and well-motivated engineers to join the team. GridAmerica will be based in downtown Cleveland, Ohio and relocation assistance may be available to the successful candidates.

The specific vacancies that are being advertised are:

Operational Planning Engineers (Job Code GA002)
Responsible for coordinating and optimizing transmission outage plans for the GridAmerica transmission systems in the most economic manner in accordance with security and quality of supply standards. Responsible for ensuring the plan will deliver the required access to the transmission equipment for maintenance and construction while maximizing AFC values for transaction paths within the GridAmerica footprint from real time to the year ahead. Requires a decision-maker with 5-7 years of relevant industry experience, with the ability to create load flow cases and interpret results, and with a knowledge of PSS/E PTI MUST program. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience is desired. Salary $80K plus.
