CIA revealing that OSP manipulated intelligence

SCOOPING THE SPOOKS

Looking for damning evidence to support a war? Try calling the Office of Special Plans (OSP). Staffed by top Pentagon hawks, the OSP offers the National Security Council and the president's closest advisers an alternative to the CIA. OSP doesn't always run their reports by other intelligence agencies. Although responsible for much of the questionable information used to justify the war in Iraq, OSP has received scant media attention. Respectable sources like The New Yorker and The Guardian have raised concerns about OSP's role. And a couple of Congress members have questioned OSP activities, but so far no investigations. Perhaps this will change with a soon-to-be-released report by the CIA revealing that OSP manipulated reams of intelligence before handing it over to top White House officials.
