Gulf War II fought to collect Iraqi debt?

At the end of Gulf War I the United Nations created what is known as the United Nations Compensation Commission. The UNCC was created to handle claims for dammages submitted by persons, corporations and governments for real and imagined losses that occoured during the 1991 war with Iraq.

Judgements totaling just over $200 billion dollars were awarded by the UNCC to the "victims." The vast majority of the money was awarded to corporations for everything from destruction of property to... get this... loss of income and business disruption due to the war. That's right, hypothetical losses, fictional dammages.

The money to pay the claims was and is being skimmed out of the Iraqi "Food for Oil" program. 25%-30% of the Food for Oil money is raked off the top to make the payoffs. At current rates of oil production, it was estimated that it would have taken over 90 years to pay off all the claims. Could be somebody was unwilling to wait 90 years to get their money.

An exposee on the subject is here: http://www.freeworldalliance.com/newsflash/2003/03newsflash0001.htm

Don't buy that Bush Administration line of camel dung about Iraqi oil belonging to the Iraqi people. It belongs to the corporate crooks by order of the United Nations. George Bush just collected the bill.
