Interesting. There's been far too little (virtually none) concern about the "who did it and why" aspect. The only other implication in the press has been that a Nigerian did it for the money.

Besides finding out who forged the document (which had obvious intent), we need to know how it was that Dick Cheney got involved in the first place.

The storyline is that Ambassador Wilson was asked by the CIA to check it out after Cheney raised the question.

It's rather hard to dismiss Wilson as a green-tea sipper among old low-level friends (as Gordon Liddy is characterizing him) if the CIA tasked him with it.

Nor does it make sense that Cheney's group would have better info than intelligence agencies in the first place.

Another investigation needs to look into that as well.
