Preston PeetRE: RED DAWNSun Jun 29 19:43:14 2003208.152.73.125Hi all, As you might notice as you read through this lengthy response from me,this message has raised my ire, a lot. (Please feel free to pass this on towhomever and where ever you see fit if you so desire.) Not to sound too argumentative, but doesn't the Bush administration, orheck, even the Clinton administration when it was in office, come across asa LOT more threatening to our way of life, you know, those life, liberty andpursuit of happiness things, than any alleged Chinese threat does? What in the heck is this: "...I heard some disturbing rumors. Peoplewere supposedly seeing Chinese soldiers in the Mexican desert. At least oneTexan decided to go down and look for himself. He didn't make it backalive." Is there a name to go with this disappeared person, apparently nowdead person? I'm sorry, but a supposed Chinese threat comes across to me as somethingnot to be overly concerned about, not when the current Bush administrationhas done everything in its power to hinder a real investigation into what inthe hell happened before, during and after September 11, 2001's terrorattacks on my city ( http://www.drugwar.com/pprewtcwarnings.shtm - be sure tocheck out the photos I took of this horrorshow from my rooftop less than amile away from the WTC, on my birthday)and the Pentagon? The Bush family has a long and sordid history of doingbusiness with US enemies, including the Chinese, (who aren't necessarilyenemies, but are "different" than me) with Bush 41 even giving the Chinesesome business exemptions 3 weeks after Tiannenmen Square (sp?) massacres, sothat Loral and others could sell the Chinese satellite launching technology?(Clinton apparently did similar things, following in the footsteps of hispredecessor.) Who is it exactly I'm supposed to be worried about again? It isn't Chinese invaders, at least not to my open and enquiring mind.To illustrate my position on the Chinese "threat", here's a slightly olderarticle I wrote, which is followed at the supplied URL by lots of links soothers can check my research sources and reach their own conclusions (andthis was obviously written just before Wen Ho Lee was actually arrested andheld in jail for some insane amount of time, what, a year or so wasn't it?The publication date is also wrong, the one here being when it was repostedafter a site overhaul, not when originally published.): http://www.disinfo.com/pages/dossier/id229/pg1/ is china buying or spying?by Preston Peet ( ptpeet@cs.com ) - February 19, 2001China is spying on the US, stealing its technology! This is a hot story in the press and for some politicians. This seems arather archaic hysteria-generating tactic to get more money guaranteed tothe Military-Industrial Complex for more heavy weaponry to out-destroyeveryone else's big guns and missiles. Those big guns and missiles thatcorporations like Lockheed Martin are bragging about designing on prime-timetelevision, equating their new fighter planes with "looking to the future."Especially when US, European, and Israeli governments and corporations havebeen selling China super-sophisticated technology for years. On December 30th 1998, Channel 23's USA network news, there was quickmention of the conclusion reached by the Senate Subcommittee investigatingtechnology transfers to China. The blurb, played over pictures of a missilelaunch, informed the viewer that the committee had decided that YES, lawswere broken, and that the sales and transfers of said technology violated USNational Security laws. Unfortunately that was it, an extremely fast newsupdate, and then the soundbite was gone. Nothing more about it anywhere onthe TV.Just one month after the Tiananmen Square massacre in China, then-PresidentGeorge Bush, whose son is being actively sold as the Republican choice forPresident in 2000, sent two American envoys to Peking to meet with theChinese government to reaffirm US business ties to China in secret, BrentScowcroft, then the National Security Advisor, and Lawrence Eagleberger, theUS Deputy Secretary of State. Both of these men had worked for Dr. HenryKissinger's consulting firm, Kissinger Associates. Neither man would makepublic his business associates at their confirmation hearings beforeCongress, but they were confirmed anyway. Kissinger wrote Richard Nixon'sChina initiatives back in the early 1970s, and Bush's brother Prescottworked for a large consulting firm involved in big business deals with theChinese government at that time.In November 1989, US Congress had passed even more specific sanctionsagainst China, barring sales and exports of satellite technology unless thePresident found that it was "in the national interest." On December 19th1989, Bush lifted the sanctions citing "national interest." Two monthsearlier Bush had okayed 'preliminary licenses' for Hughes Aircraft toexchange data with the Chinese, to ensure that the satellites met thetechnical specifications for the required launch systems.Speaking of spying, the U.S. has made a point of spying on China for quitesome time, being one of the National Security Agency's top priorities eversince 1952 (when the NSA was founded). John Pike, an intelligence expert atthe Federation of American Scientists, quoted in an article by NBC Newsinvestigative reporter/producer Robert Windrem, says that it is a greatadvantage to have the Chinese rely on technology made by Loral, and Hughes, and launched by Chinese rockets. Loral and Hughes both sold technologies toChina, to help with the satellite launches. Neither had it stolen from them. Both had the permission of the US Government to sell the technology. Therewas money to be made, and those willing to exploit the opportunity jumped atthe chance.Think about it. If there were any basis for the claims that NuclearScientist Wen Ho Lee, of Taiwanese/Chinese descent, had really stolennuclear technology at Los Alamos Laboratory, if there was any real proofthat he had transferred stuff over the computer (as has been alleged in thepress) would this guy still be free, living at home with his family? No. Thegovernment would have Lee up on charges faster than one could say AldrichAmes, facing life in prison, if not execution.-------(remember, there are a good number of links following this essay at the URLabove, so be sure to check them out if you want more info on this topic.)As I noted above, I'm not trying to start an argument. I'm honestly tryingto figure out why some people are claiming to be so worried about theChinese when we have such openly fascistic, whitecollar mafiosi running ourgovernment here at home right now, today.Oh, and another couple of things: >(2) Communist bloc troops are in Mexico.Um, and where are armed US troops stationed? In how many countries aroundthe globe? More than any other country on Earth, no? Are they in all thesecountries for benevolent reasons? To protect our freedoms here at home?(Think Patriot Acts I and II, the War on Some Drugs and Users, and lots ofother nasty un-Americanisms commited by this and previous US administrationsover the years) What do you all suppose the Chinese think of all the UStroops stationed in so many countries surrounding China? Do you thinkthere's a chance that some researchers there are publishing exactly the samekind of articles, only in Chinese about the oh so threatening US troopsmoving in on them?>As some readers no doubt realize, Gulbransen's information supports my ownassertion that the communist world is preparing a military offensive againstthe United States.LOL!!! Sorta like how the Ruskies invaded Afghanistan...6 months after theUS was sureptiously supplying and arming and training Muslim fundementalistradical terror-types in Afghanistan, including that nasty killler Osama BinLaden? Remember him? The one whose family apparently helped GW Bush clearhis first millions by putting up money for his baseball team? Commie threat?I mean, who is it exactly that has troops stationed all over the world, hasitself a "preemptive strike" policy now in place and is actually discussingusing nuclear weapons on the battlefield today, not to mention actually usesDU on (and off) the battlefield today, and who sprayed our own troops withAgent Orange in Vietnam then lied about the effects for years, (not tomention lying about the reasons for that particular nasty little war tobegin with) denying our troops the medical and financial aid to combat thoseill effects? Who left so many of our troops behind in Vietnam, and hasopenly admitted it? ( http://www.thememoryhole.org/war/pows-defense-secs.htm ) Which government hadmen who sold missiles to terrorist supporting nations like Iran, some ofwhom were convicted for lying about it, and who now innundate our governmenttoday (such as Poindexter, in charge of that oh so American agency, the Total Info Awareness, and lots more criminals too)? Who allowed Isreal to bomb the shit out of the USS Liberty then ordered the men who were attacked into silence? Which government is in league with foreign, victim-boiling madmen government leaders? ( http://www.thememoryhole.org/pol/us-and-uz.htm ) Who is spraying mad amounts of poisons on the peasants in Colombia and Ecuador and maybe Peru? ( http://www.drugwar.com/pdyncorplawsuit.shtm ) Who gave $43 million in humanitarian aid to the Taliban in May 2001 for destroying their poppy crops then put the Northern Alliance in power, you know, the folk who for the last year of Taliban rule controlled the 10 percent of Afghanistan where poppies still flourished, and who since US troops entered the country have pumped out for 2 years now record poppy crop figures, ( http://www.nzherald.co.nz/latestnewsstory.cfm?storyID=3508075&thesection=news&thesubsection=world&thesecondsubsection=latest ) and which government was it that just recently met with the Taliban representatives to see about getting their help in stabilizing the country? ( http://www.truthout.org/docs_03/061403J.shtml ) Military invasion of the US by commies simply seems the least of ourworries, at least to me, and really comes across to me as seriouslydisturbing distraction and disinfo, designed to divert our attention fromthe murderous criminals in charge of my government today, right this moment, and more, turns my stomach I must say, in as friendly and polite a manner aspossible! Of course, if someone can convince me otherwise, without my having toshell out my hard earned money for this book advertised in the email I'mresponding to, (when I don't have health coverage and can't get it, becausemy government keeps spending my taxes on a corrupt, bloatedmilitaryindustriallawenforcmentprison complex, while giving themselvessickening raises and building themselves sumptious palaces and palatialhomes as it does everything in its power to enrich its members and theirgreedy corporate warmongering/profiteering buddies) I'm always willing totake a look at the evidence.Peace,Preston Peeteditor http://www.drugwar.com editor at large High Times mag/com----- Original Message -----From: American Patriot Friends NetworkTo: APFN SMARTGROUP ; APFN Yahoogroups Sent: Sunday, June 29, 2003 4:18 PMSubject: [Quigs_Fight] [Fwd: RED DAWN]ARCHIVED BROADCAT of the ALEX JONES SHOW. Don't Miss It!! http://arc3.m2ktalk.com/jun2003/ajam89/23.ram In November 1998, while traveling through Texas, I heard some disturbingrumors. People were supposedly seeing Chinese soldiers in the Mexicandesert. At least one Texan decided to go down and look for himself. Hedidn't make it back alive. Then came a curious story, forwarded to me by theeditor of a national publication. A woman in Texas reported that herrelatives had warned against returning to the family's ranch in Mexico.Foreign soldiers were said to be there. It wouldn't be safe coming incontact with them. When she traveled to Mexico and met with her relativesthe woman learned that the strangers were Asians who were preparing toattack the United States.Scott Gulbransen is a writer who went to Mexico and talked with people aboutChinese troops. He collected stories from border patrol officers, fromMexican policemen, fishermen and others. The testimony he gathered suggeststhat a military supply operation is underway in Mexico. Here are themainpoints:(1) China is pumping arms, ammunition, men and uniforms into Baja Californiathrough the port of Ensanada. "The fishermen of Ensanada know something isgoing on," says Gulbransen. "They've seen it with their own eyes. But no onelistens to poor fishermen. They're dirty drunks who smell like the fish theycatch. They might be the first to witness the Chinese move on the UnitedStates but no one will listen."(2) Communist bloc troops are in Mexico. There are small militaryencampments in the Mexican desert where troops from various communistcountries are based. Judging by the rifle ammunition used, these are highlytrained special troops from Cuba, North Korea, China and possibly Russia. They appear to operate in mixed groups (ethnically combined). According towitnesses, Mexican officials receive cash bribes for helping to maintain andconceal these troops. Anyone who threatens to expose the operation facesdeath.(3) Chinese military supplies are being smuggled into the United States.According to border patrol officers, U.S. officials are allowing trucks fromMexico carrying Chinese ammunition to pass the border without question. Thisonly makes sense if officials responsible for the border are in the pay ofRed China. Border patrol officers who've tried to blow the whistle have beenfrightened into silence. One officer died in a suspicious car accident aftertelling Gulbransen that she feared for her life. At one border crossingalone, 30 to 40 trucks loaded with Chinese military supplies were enteringthe United States per day. It would appear that the Chinese are setting upammunition dumps for troops or insurgents throughout the Southwest.(4) Communist guerrillas in Mexico expect that the United States will soonbe brought to its knees. "I am the leader of the La Conquidistas," a Mexicanguerrilla told Gulbransen. The plan is to take Mexico from the "imperialistpigs of the U.S. that hold the Mexican people in poverty." The guerrillachief added that "Fidel Castro is the only brave man to stand up to you."When Gulbransen suggested the Conquidistas needed more than AK-47s to fightthe United States, the chief explained that the Mexican people areresourceful. And besides this, Mexico has "friends throughout the world whowould help us." As Gulbransen was leaving the secret meeting place, theguerrilla boss said: "You tell the fat Americans about the real Mexico. Youtell them their day to pay is coming fast. Coming very fast."There are further details in this story, but readers will have to purchaseGulbransen's book and learn for themselves.
