Whoa, be a little careful about jumping on words (versus interpretations). The word "occult" historically had nothing to do with Satanism although in the past century, it has become more so due to both Christian and non-Christian usages.

Don't take the above to mean I'm defending the Harry Potter books, nor the discussion (which I didn't hear). However, from the Gospels with which you should be familiar, it is frequently mentioned that Jesus spoke in parables -- and people in the public didn't understand them. The parables were often explained to a smaller group, particularly the disciples, in private -- that is, in the manner of occult teaching.

How many times do the Gospels indicate that things would be said but not understood? Same thing.

It doesn't behoove Christians to misuse terms (spiritual matters), any more than it behooves those who are not Christian. Though convictions may be admirable, it's better to stick closely to facts and leave less room open for justifiable (?) ridicule.

FWIW, Rense is part of the Roy Masters group, along with Art Bell, Mike Savage, WorldNetDaily, and others. There may have been some splits over the years (not sure), but the history is there.
