In addition to what you've listed above (along with the interview) are the real issues about why: the American Civil War; the Bolshevik Revolution; the Vietnam War; and the deliberate dismantling of Yugoslavia (which meant above all the demonization and destruction of Serbs).

Upon investigation, you will find commonalities that are not apparent if prejudice and preconceived notions are allowed to color the information.

I'm sure more could be said, but this is a start. And it has to do with why many "rational explanations" about the world turn out to be less than 100%.

(BTW, Chomsky has been fingered as CIA-related.)
