Pedestrian, 54, is killed while crossing street

PHOENIX - A 54-year-old man was killed Monday morning while crossing the
street at 75th Avenue and Catalina Drive.

The pedestrian was carrying plywood, which broke through the windshield of
the vehicle that hit him, injuring the passenger, said Phoenix police Sgt.
Jim Pryor.

The passenger, a 17-year-old male, was transported to Maryvale hospital, and
the 17-year-old driver is under investigation for drug use, Pryor said.

New information. This looks like Brian Quig's death was an accident.
