in which Naomi Klein writes,

"The best NGOs are loyal to their causes, not to countries, and they aren't afraid to blow the whistle on their own governments. Think of Médecins sans frontières standing up to the White House and the European Union over AIDS drug patents..."

Fact: Medecins sans frontieres cooperated with "the international community" to destroy Yugoslavia, with the ultimate demonizations of Serbs -- the Orthodox population there. The Third Worldization of the FRY resulted. Did MSF issue horrified reports? Not at all -- their chief proudly accepted a Nobel Peace Prize while being in charge of operations in Kosovo which resulted in the genocide and ethnic cleansing of non-KLA populations.

The few MSF people who tried to work with Serbs were cut off from the organization.

AIDS drug patents? Those drugs are killing patients, not saving them. It's all a little power game.
