LarryNo "carry permit" is needed to pack your piece concealedFri Jun 13 21:49:51 2003208.152.73.166No "carry permit" is needed to pack your piece concealedWell, History occurred today here in Alaska, even though such a conditionShould be normalplace in All 50 states.I went into Wasilla today at 3pm. for the ceremony and watched Gov. FrankMurkowski sign HB-102 into law, (as well as HB-177 which gave increasedreciprocity with other states, basically honoring all of them).HB-102 makes Alaska the only state besides Vermont where no "carry permit"is needed to pack your piece concealed (altho that was "legal" before ifengaged in a lawful outdoor activity). Our current "Carry Permit" Systemremains unchanged and Optional for those who want to have Carry Permits forReciprocity purposes in other states. I also spoke with Lt. Governor LorenLeman who was there and he was just as supportive.A large percentage of folks there were packing, quite a few Condition 11911's, and I suppose its rather nice to shake hands and chat with yourGovernor with a .45 under your vest, although I did the same with PatBuchanan when he was here running for President. Good feeling. Both thosemen knew that they were in good hands and that is how our Republic was andIS meant to be.I took a few photos and clapped Frank Murkowski (former U.S. Senator; nowour governor) on the back as I shook his hand and said: "well Governor, 2down, 48 to go". He chuckled a bit when I told him "good job", but he saidthat he was glad to sign it but that it was the people did the work.(BTW, it was interesting that Channel 2 KTUU News who was There ... theyONLY reported on a welfare fraud bill that he signed into law a bit afterhe signed HB-102; there was NO MENTION by the Liberal press of the CCWbill. No surprise on that I suppose).I told him "Governor, ya know what I tell people? ... I ask them how wouldthey feel if they were Required to Take a test, Pay money, Getfingerprinted, Pass a background check, Have their photo taken, Pass a test... for the State to "Issue" them a "Permit" (read: "Permission") for themto have the Right of Free Speech???" He looked at me and said: "Cas,looks like you got it right". Last time I chatted with him was in Valdezsometime back but he has a good memory. We also chatted about Predator control here (hes' a big time Sheep hunter),and he had already heard of the drugged 750 lb. Grizzly at McGrath 2 daysago that the Fish & Game chopper couldn't get off the ground with when theytried to "re-locate" the bear instead of just shooting it as well as therest of those killer bears who actually kill more moose and sheep than thewolves do. (Those bears just return in 2 weeks and kill all the moosecalves anyway, and are doing so as we type here).Anyway, 2 States down and 48 to go. Not too shabby a day if I do say somyself.Keep ur powder dry, and have Lots of powder.Cas GadomskiAlaska ================================BILL: HB 102 http://www.legis.state.ak.us/basis/get_bill.asp?session=23&bill=HB102 BILL ID: HB 10200 HOUSE BILL NO. 102 01 "An Act relating to concealed deadly weapons." 02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 03 * Section 1.
