Nichols Faces State Murder Charges For Oklahoma Bombing
Nichols Serving Life Sentence For Federal Charges

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A judge in Oklahoma City ordered bombing conspirator Terry Nichols to stand trial on state murder charges.

Terry Nichols Those charges could bring the death penalty.

Nichols is already serving a life term in a federal prison. Nichols was convicted in 1997 on federal charges of conspiracy and involuntary manslaughter for the deaths of eight law enforcement officers killed in the 1995 bombing.

The state charges will cover the other 160 people killed when Timothy McVeigh blew up a rental truck filled with fertilizer and fuel outside of the Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City.

A trial date hasn't been set.

The mastermind of the bombing, McVeigh, was convicted of murder after a federal trial and was executed in 2000.
