Dear Senator Allen:

You must resign as Senator of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

You do not serve me, nor do you act with honor for this country. Your allegiance is first and foremost to the State of Israel above all else. Your religious zeal, your Christian Zionism, supersedes your oath to obey the Constitution of the United States, and all the treaties and laws to which the United States is a signatory..

You support a war in Iraq, a country which has never threatened and has never been capable of threatening, the United States.

Yet, you will do nothing to protect unarmed American citizens who are murdered, mistreated, threatened, and detained by the Israeli government and its soldiers and terrorist settlers. You will do nothing when the Israeli government takes and destroys their personal equipment, records, and other personal belongings.

You and your staff refuse to read my letters. You are so callous and uncaring that you have addressed me as Rachel Corrie in a letter I wrote urging you to support H.Con. Res. 11 and to demand an independent investigation into her murder, premeditated and with malice, by an Israeli soldier who bragged about it afterwards.

Yes, a member of your staff called me to say that addressing me as Rachel was a clerical error. Others who have called your office have been told the same thing.

But, you and your staff stand by the contents of your letter of April 17th* to me (received on May 12th) in which you place the alleged needs of Israel above the needs of this country and its citizens, above its duty and your duty to obey international law to which the US has agreed to abide, to UN resolutions, and to the United States Constitution. It was a letter which expressed no sympathy for her death, no condemnation of Israel’s violence.

You are a servant first to Israel in

1. its greed for land as daily it demolishes homes of Palestinians leaving them homeless;

2. Its use of torture, arrest, and detention without charges;

3. Its violence against unarmed and noncombatant Palestinians of all ages and members of the International Solidarity Movement, people from around the world who are also unarmed;

4. Its denial of the Palestinians to adequate water, work, families, and religious worship.

You write that Israel is religiously tolerant. It is not. It is destroying mosques and churches. When Sharon blasphemed the Al-Aqsa Mosque by taking there 1800 Israeli soldiers and police, at a time when Ehud Barak was pretending to negotiate peace with Chairman Arafat. When Palestinians demonstrated the following day, the Israeli soldiers killed 60 of them even though it is clear that the lives of the Israeli soldiers was not in danger. Thus was born the Al-Aqsa Intifada.

Israel is not the democracy you allege. It denies equal rights to its Arab citizens in Israel and to Palestinians in the occupied territories, and even to those who are non-Jews who work in Israel or who, like you, are religious zealots on behalf of Israel.. It even denies equal rights among Jews of different religious views and sects and ethnic origin.

Since your allegiance is to Israel without regard for its acts and omissions and without regard to the best interests of this country and its citizens, you must resign.
