Let's Be Radiation Free in 2033

How many of us will still be around in 2033? That is about 26 years from now, and no doubt, many of us now in our mid-years will probably still be alive and kicking then. Even if not, many of our children and grandchildren will be around and our spirit, our legacy will be carried on through them for all eternity.
What I wish for each and every single one of you, for all your families, for all Americans is for the U.S. to be Radiation FREE in 2033.
Yes, I know and fully understand that this is one of the most ambitious goals ever conceived. But I also know that if we fail to have dreams exactly like this one with all certainty in 2033 we will only have more uranium munitions - from our dirty guns, tanks, missiles, and bombs.
If we do not commit to being Radiation FREE in 2033 we will have even more leaky, dangerous nuclear power plant reactors all around this nation.
If we do not each personally develop an overwhelming drive and burning desire to become Radiation FREE in 2033 when that year finally arrives we will have produced only more vast quantities of spent radioactive fuel and other radioactive uranium waste products lying around, as well as more trucks and trains filled with uranium over-turning and crashing (like what just happened in NC) on their way to radioactive “dump” sites that contaminate our environment.
Whatever important changes we wish to see in our future - in our kids’ futures - we must begin to work hard today, in the here and now. As the famous artist Andy Warhol once said, “They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself”.
If we do not personally stand up and say we insist on becoming Radiation FREE in 2033 we will see greater numbers of outdoor radioactive Uranium 238 (so-called “Depleted Uranium”) explosive "test" blasts spilling unfathomable amounts of microscopic radioactive uranium particles out into the atmosphere - and into our children’s and grandchildren’s lungs.
If we do not become Radiation FREE in 2033 then these products of uranium which are exploded by our military will continue to be carried through the winds in the atmosphere and land upon our soils, in which we grow our grains vegetables, fruits - and on which we grow feed for our livestock and later consume. This ceramic uranium oxide, so tiny as to be not a solid but a gas, also lands in our streams, reservoirs, and rivers, yielding radioactivity in our water supply.
Please consider joining me in developing a personal commitment for the US to become RADIATION FREE IN 2033.
If you think about it, what other choice do we have but to go for this? What can we lose if we try? Most parents I know would be willing to risk their own lives so that their children and grandchildren can grow up and breathe air, drink water, and eat food from soils that are *not* radioactive.
We are now at the point of increased Radiation Madness at the hands of those in power who are beholden to financial and corporate interests that seek to contaminate us with only greater amounts of radiation (not less). So it is imperative that each and every one of us drop whatever we are doing, stop for a moment now, and at the start of a fresh New Year consider: How much do we stand to lose if we do not begin to act NOW towards this end?
Typically at this time of year many of us are doing our year end, introspective self-evaluations and examining where we've been, where we are now, and where we are going. So let us take a few moments to consider developing plans to achieve new goals for the New Year that will bring about critical changes for the future of the US.
The future of our country *is* the future of our children and grandchildren, after all. And if we do not protect our children’s and grandchildren’s air, water, and food supply… we need to ask ourselves, who will? Times have changed and precious few people these days look to “our government” as some kind and benevolent entity that can always be counted upon to keep our families safe, secure, and free from harm.
Sadly, after 9/11, the invasion and occupation of two other countries, and the horror that was Katrina, Americans have learned better than to always put blind faith and trust in those in power. We know better than to rest on our laurels in hope - and wishful thinking - that we are safe and secure, believing that “someone else” will magically come along, take care of our loved ones’ futures, and solve all our problems *for* us.
Surely we’ve learned our lesson by now, which is simply that, if we expect a better future for our kids and grand kids, then we - those who know what is going on - are going to have to work like hell - and fight harder than ever before - in order to create it.
If we pause now just for a moment and examine our conscience (provided, of course, that one is not suffering from psychosis) doesn't it just "feel right" - within our moral conscience and sense of what’s “right” - to work hard and oppose all things radioactive in the New Year?
Every holiday season we have a tradition of wishing those we care about lovely sentiments such as joy, good health, prosperity, and peace on earth. But as we already know, wishing for these things is simply *not* enough. If we want to see these things happen? We are each going to have to do our utmost to take bold and swift action and *make* them happen.
Personally, I can think of no greater gift to give to our children and grandchildren than to work hard and pitch in to render our country’s air, water, and soil Radiation FREE in 2033.
