The official would not say if the call was expected, but aidessaid the president was surprised by Kissinger's decision. In his letter, Kissinger said he was prepared to submit all relevantfinancial information to the White House and an independent review, as wellas to other members of the joint commission."It has become clear, however, that although specific potential conflictscan be resolved in this manner, the controversy would quickly move to theconsulting firm I have built and own," Kissinger's letter said."To liquidate Kissinger Associates cannot be accomplished withoutsignificantly delaying the beginning of the joint commission's work," headded. "I have, therefore, concluded that I cannot accept the responsibilityyou have proposed."The concern is the questions of conflict of interest that may be raisedbecause the former secretary of state serves on the boards of severalorganizations, and is chairman of some of them.Kissinger was national security adviser and later secretary of state underPresident Nixon. After Nixon's resignation in 1974, Kissinger continued assecretary of state under President Ford.Henry KissingerAge: 79; born May 27, 1923, in GermanyCareer highlights: U.S. secretary of state, 1973-1977; national securityadviser, 1969-1975; shared the Nobel Peace Prize with North Vietnamesecounterpart Le Duc Tho; author, professor and Army veteranPersonal: As a child, fled Nazi Germany in 1938 with family to the UnitedStates; married to Nancy Marginnes; two adult children from previousmarriagePresident Bush, in a brief statement, said he accepted Kissinger's decision"with regret.""As I stated at the time of his appointment, Dr. Kissinger is one of ournation's most accomplished and respected public servants. I thank him forhis willingness to consider serving this country once again," thepresident's statement said.Bush promised he would select a new chairman for the commission soon.Kissinger's appointment was criticized by some who said he was too close topowerful national and international figures to be independent. In aneditorial published November 29, The New York Times suggested the WhiteHouse chose him "to contain an investigation it has long opposed."It's the second resignation from the commission in two days. Wednesday, former Sen. George Mitchell announced he was stepping down as vice chairmanof the independent board. In his letter, Mitchell also cited potential conflicts of interest. He saidhe didn't want to sever ties with his law firm, which he said he had beenurged to do, and he said the commission's work would take too much time."I regret that I will not be able to serve," the former Senate Majorityleader wrote.Former Rep. Lee Hamilton, D-Indiana, will replace Mitchell.=====================================What's this about them digging a hold under Cheney's house! They had better hurry! This evil sucker's day's are numbered!DO ON TO OTHER'S AS THEY WOULD DO UN TO YOU!1.That there now is more undercover IRS agents than there ever were and thatthey have infiltrated Patriot Groups, are on most Patriot Internet List, andare the ones that volunteer to help everyone so their cover is good. 2. That many major Law firms and many C.P.A.'s are now 10 percenters andare turning clients in to the IRS without the Firm knowing about it and Theyare getting paid 10% by sending their check to their home addresses. They snoop through other's files (on week ends when no one is around-checkout the files-& photo and make copies of incriminating information. 3. Almost all large law firms that specialise in Taxation NOW has a TenPercenter working undercover as do all large C.P.A. Firms that do tax work. 4. Most Tax Fighter Groups have two undercover agents (so they can covereach others backs) and usually set things up so they can ask all members tosign a petition (with their names and addresses) for a good cause, (but theIRS gets a copy and then has a HIT LIST.) 5. Some of the undercover agents are actually in charge of the Tax ProtestGroup and the least suspected by the membershp. 6. The IRS saves more money, and catches more tax protestors by usingundercover agents than they do using regular agents plus the agents get agood size raise in pay for being undercover and a member of a tax protestgroup. 7. That our government considers the Tax Protest Movement more dangerous tothem than the Terrorists or any other group since they are more intelligent, hard working and usually unknown by their neighbors, fellow workers, etc. 8. That the government is more concerned about a General Tax Revolt thananother bombing of a building or other terrorist acts. 9. Now that you have been warned, BE CAREFUL, & KEEP A LOW PROFILE. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU TELL OTHERS ABOUT YOUR ASSETS, AND ACTIVITIES. ETC. The undercover agent is usually the one that agrees with you and wants tobe your friend. He will volunteer for all the tough jobs such as sending out the newsletter(he gets the mailing list) pickig up people, giving them rides, and will always attend all meetings. He will tap all phones if he can, and plant mikes and carry a voiceactivated small tape recorder with him. He will appear like a successful business man, and dress nice with nicemanners. He will agree with everybody and volunteer to help everybody.
