It's the second resignation from the commission in two days. Wednesday, former
Sen. George Mitchell announced he was stepping down as vice chairman of the
independent board.

In his letter, Mitchell also cited potential conflicts of interest. He said he
didn't want to sever ties with his law firm, which he said he had been urged to
do, and he said the commission's work would take too much time.

"I regret that I will not be able to serve," the former Senate Majority leader
wrote.

One of the key congressional Republicans fighting this rear-guard action was
Rep. Dick Cheney of Wyoming, who became the ranking House Republican on the
Iran-contra investigation. Cheney already enjoyed a favorable reputation in
Washington as a steady conservative hand.

Cheney smartly exploited his relationship with Rep. Lee Hamilton, D-Ind., who
was chairman of the Iran-contra panel. Hamilton cared deeply about his
reputation for bipartisanship and the Republicans quickly exploited this fact.

Politicians sometimes claim that hiding governmental misdeeds is good for the
country. They say the public could not handle learning the full extent of our
leaders' lies and cover-ups. For example, former Congressman Lee Hamilton,
chairman of the House select committee investigating the Iran-contra affair, was
shown ample evidence against Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush, but he did not
probe their wrongdoing.

"The complexity of Iran-Contra should not obscure the facts of what happened,"
said Rep. Lee Hamilton, D-Ind., who co-chaired the congressional investigation.
"A small group of government officials decided they knew what was right for the
United States, they kept it secret from the Congress, they showed disdain for
the law and acted totally in conflict with the Constitution."

Yet even though the story may now be familiar, many experts fear the lessons of
the Iran-Contra affair have been lost during many years of tedious
investigations, partisan wrangling over details, repeated denials on the part of
key figures and an outcome that did not involve either the impeachment of the
president or the imprisonment of his top aides.

Ben-Menashe recently testified before the House Task Force to investigate the
claimed deal between Republicans and Iranians in 1980 to keep 52 American
hostages longer than Carter's term so they could be delivered to Reagan.
Ben-Menashe told them he saw President Bush at the Paris meeting to put the
final touches on this deal. The Israeli had previously told this to two senators
on the Senate Foreign Relations sub-committee investigating the same October
meeting. The Israeli added he did not know until later that a deal had been made
between the Republicans on the House task force'and the Democrats under Rep. Lee
Hamilton before they started the investigation to declare Bush had not gone to
the Paris meeting. Ben-Menashe testified Hamilton had held a preliminary press
conference and announced that one thing was "certain"--Bush did not go to Paris.

questions about his role in a Contra resupply operation. He lies convincingly:
He has "not in any way, at any time violate[d] the principles or legal
requirements of the Boland Amendment," which bans federal support for the
Nicaraguan counterrevolutionaries. Committee chairman Lee Hamilton, D-Ind.,
pronounces himself satisfied with North's "good faith." When North's superior,
John Poindexter, is told of his successful deception of Congress, Poindexter
e-mails Ollie: "Well done."

1.That there now is more undercover IRS agents than there ever were and that
they have infiltrated Patriot Groups, are on most Patriot Internet List, and
are the ones that volunteer to help everyone so their cover is good.
2. That many major Law firms and many C.P.A.'s are now 10 percenters and
are turning clients in to the IRS without the Firm knowing about it and They
are getting paid 10% by sending their check to their home addresses.
They snoop through other's files (on week ends when no one is around-check
out the files-& photo and make copies of incriminating information.
3. Almost all large law firms that specialise in Taxation NOW has a Ten
Percenter working undercover as do all large C.P.A. Firms that do tax work.
4. Most Tax Fighter Groups have two undercover agents (so they can cover
each others backs) and usually set things up so they can ask all members to
sign a petition (with their names and addresses) for a good cause, (but the
IRS gets a copy and then has a HIT LIST.)
5. Some of the undercover agents are actually in charge of the Tax Protest
Group and the least suspected by the membershp.
6. The IRS saves more money, and catches more tax protestors by using
undercover agents than they do using regular agents plus the agents get a
good size raise in pay for being undercover and a member of a tax protest
group.
7. That our government considers the Tax Protest Movement more dangerous to
them than the Terrorists or any other group since they are more intelligent,
hard working and usually unknown by their neighbors, fellow workers, etc.
8. That the government is more concerned about a General Tax Revolt than
another bombing of a building or other terrorist acts.
9. Now that you have been warned, BE CAREFUL, & KEEP A LOW PROFILE.
BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU TELL OTHERS ABOUT YOUR ASSETS, AND ACTIVITIES.

The undercover agent is usually the one that agrees with you and wants to
be your friend.
He will volunteer for all the tough jobs such as sending out the newsletter
(he gets the mailing list)
pickig up people, giving them rides, and will always attend all meetings.
He will tap all phones if he can, and plant mikes and carry a voice
activated small tape recorder with him.
He will appear like a successful business man, and dress nice with nice
manners. He will agree with everybody and volunteer to help everybody.
