Facts, even when ignored, do not change
by Dr. M. Sidney Wallace

My parents taught me one simple principle that has worked in every case over my entire lifetime. It is an extremely simple concept yet there are many in our governments that cannot grasp even the basics.

The concept: “Never criticize something unless you have something better to offer. “

One evening just before my sister was going to visit some family members in another city, I made a critical comment about something she had prepared for our evening meal. My father then told me about the simple concept above and then told me that while my sister was away that I would have to take care of her household chores, as well as mine, for the following week.

After my week in purgatory my father asked me about his concept. I told him that I was extremely tired and did not realize everything my sister had to do. He replied by saying that had I offered my sister a “constructive suggestion” on her culinary disaster that she possibly could have learned and the conversation would have been over.

When an individual is elected to a governmental office he accepts the responsibilities and duties in that office. The first responsibility of the President of the United States is to protect and defend the citizens of the nation. The majority of Americans elected George W. Bush because they felt he simply had integrity unlike his vacillating opponent that was only interested in personal aggrandizement.

The United Nations has been shown to be corrupt and totally incapable of accomplishing any of the worthwhile goals that it was chartered for. President Bush quickly recognized that the UN would be of absolutely no help in fighting terrorism through out the world.

The President then went before the Congress of the United States and asked for Congressional support in fighting terrorist in other lands before they could deliver another attack like the World Trade Towers here in America. With exception of a few political opportunist, the Senate agreed that the President should act for the safety of America.

We now fast forward to the present. President Bush’s plan is working in Afghanistan and Iraq. Third world nations are once again starting to recognize the leadership of the United States is in their best interest. The socialist /communist governments of old Europe are slowly collapsing like the Soviet Union. As technology in communications reaches out, the despots of the rest of the world are experiencing a great deal of animosity at the success and freedom of the United States. Likewise the leaders of Democrat Party are watching their political power steadily erode as the citizens of the Untied States see that they have absolutely no solutions for the problems of the nation. This brings me back to what my daddy taught me many decades ago. “Never criticize something unless you have something better to offer.”
