It has been one month ( Tuesday, November 1, 2005 ) since we were all thrilled by the gutsiness of Senator Harry Reid in hauling in the entire Senate enforced by "Rule 21" and I'm sure you can still thrill to these words by Harry Reid: http://reid.senate.gov/record.cfm?id=248129 and also this report about Bill Frist's reaction: The usually unflappable majority leader, Bill Frist (R-Tenn.), was searching for words to express his outrage to reporters a few minutes later. The Senate "has been hijacked by the Democratic leadership," he said. "They have no convictions, they have no principles, they have no ideas." Never before had he been "slapped in the face with such an affront," he said, adding: "For the next year and a half, I can't trust Senator Reid."

The Bush administration will leave no stone unturned in its quest to stifle a free press.
Its battle against the Corporation of Public Broadcasting began with the appointment of Kenneth Tomlinson as chairman. Tomlinson stepped down after an investigation into violations of the Public Broadcasting Act. But he's left behind a CPB office that is stacked with GOP insiders and propagandists.He recruited
Patricia de Stacy Harrison, a former co-chair of the Republican National Committee, to become CPB's president. Since taking office, Harrison has placed Republican Party loyalists and seasoned propagandists from the U.S. State Department in executive positions throughout the CPB. In September, Tomlinson handed over his chairmanship to Cheryl Halpern, a GOP mega-fundraiser with a background in state propaganda and little experience in public broadcasting.
Please write to your Senators and Congressmember to protest and insist that they get rid of this set of biased people in the CPB. Ask them to undo the hires by Tomlinson. Send them information about these people

Congressman Murtha is a decorated combat veteran whose courage and patriotism cannot be viciously attacked by Jean Schmidt without reaction in defense of Congressman Murtha.
