The function of this website is to convey accurate information from as many angles as possible on the
Patriot Act. That's it. Everyone has an opinion on the Patriot Act, and that's great, however,uninformed
opinions are not very useful in reality. The goal of this website is to pass on the facts about the Patriot
Act and let viewers use this valuable information in stimulating and EDUCATED debate.

WHY STUDY THE PATRIOT ACT?

The Patriot Act is one of the most powerful pieces of legislation in modern times. The Patriot Act affects both domestic citizens and foreign visitors from abroad. The fact that is most people don't understand the law is a testament to the complexity of the legislation.The Patriot Act itself is a physically daunting document at 342 pages. Within the many pages of the Patriot Act, 350 subject areas are covered. If that were not difficult enough, these subject areas involve 40 different federal agencies, (Collins, 2002). The Patriot Act consists of 156 separate sections under ten titles (Kollar, 2004). If all this sounds overly complex.....It is, but fear not, this website is design to give you comprehensive, easy to understand information on this powerful law and you can use in real life.

The process of finalizing "Patriot Act II" looks as though it will be as exciting as the original. There appears to be some new faces and ideas that will come into play in this renewal period. There are also some familiar politicians that were very instrumental in the origianl law. If you have not been educated on how the Patriot Act became as law you are missing a valuable bit of knowledge. The story reads like a movie and gives so many insights into alot of the issues that are being dealt with today. In the newsletter section of this website, I have a bullet point timeline on the creation of the Patriot Act. While it is just a taste of the dynamic time period in which the Patriot Act was created in, knowing those facts alone places a person ahead of about 90% of the populace in general knowledge. In my upcoming book Living Under The Patriot Act: Educating A Society,
which will be avaliable on this website in early 2006, I break down all the events through the creation period of the Patriot Act and so much more. I am very excited about the book and recommend it to the person who wants to have a comprehensive knowledge of the Patriot Act.
