THE SUPREME COURT NOMINATION. "ABORTION IS ONLY A DISTRACTION
Senate Democrats Should Invoke Senate Rule 21 Again And Go Into Another "Closed Session:" To Ask Supreme Court Nominee's Questions That They Refuse to
Answer In Public In Fear They May Need To Rule In Regard To Any Future Case.
(Refer To Final Paragraph)
It is very ironic that during the previous 2004 Presidential election the Republican's utilized "Religious Right" issues in relation to gay marriage and abortion to dupe the voters to support their actual "hidden" political agenda in regard to a illegal Iraq war, property rights for home owners, revision of bankruptcy laws that favor big business, budget cuts that previously assisted our American disabled and poor, the widening gap between the rich and poor, and the erosion of our civil rights and democracy relating to the Neocon provisions of the Patriot Act. All of these previous issues effect each and every American in these United States, yet the "greedy" religious right voters were duped by their religious leaders and Republican Propaganda Machine by focusing their attention in regard to their "religious" convictions agenda contrary to issues that effect each and every citizen within these United States and throughout the World.
The religious right and the American People are about to be duped once again in regard to the appointment of a "far right" conservative nominee to our U.S. Supreme Court. The main stream media are portraying the "abortion issue" as the main qualification of a U.S. Supreme Court nominee when it is not. The distraction issues in regard to abortion or gay rights are only "front burner" issues as a means to unite the political base of the Republican Party in an effort to continue to "cover up" their present Neocon agenda not only in the year of 2005, but perhaps within the next twenty years of our lives.
The Ms. Meirs Supreme Court nomination was not only a distraction but was also a "staged" or planned political hoax by Bush to pretend he was serious in regard to his nomination of Meirs when he was not serious at all. This "fake" nomination was "staged" to only pacify potential "women" voters across the Nation to convince them that he was for a "woman" judge because this is what women were hoping for across this Nation. Did Bush or Meirs make a comment in the media on their regret that her nomination was so easily and hastily rejected? Did Bush insist that Ms. Meirs have at least a nomination hearing? Is it not also ironic that Ms. Meirs was selected by Bush after the Libby indictments were revealed? Bush was skillfully having his political cake and eating it too, by pretending to nominate a "woman," but had actually planned or anticipated on selecting a "Male" Supreme Court Nominee from the very beginning.
We all are aware over the past four years that the Republicans are obsessed on maintaining the Neocon agenda and their lust for power over the People of this Nation and the World. It would therefore be the logic reason as to why the Republicans desire to appoint a conservative judge to protect this present Neocon agenda in the future. In addition, a Republican conservative judge would also rule to "uphold" all of the previous laws that the Bush Neocon's and their Republican dominated Congress has been enforced on us since the time they have been in political office. From my perspective viewpoint, this should be the primary "main issue" and not secondary "Religious Right" issues that only applies to "far right" religion beliefs.
It is God who should pass judgement on people in regard to his biblical teachings or sins on "his" judgement day only, and not Pat Robertson's day. Jesus also said: "Do Not Judge Another Unless Ye Yourself Have Been Judged." He also said: "Anyone of you who are without sin, should cast the first stone." In essence, none of us human beings are perfect. It is also inconceivable that God appointed his Disciples to preach or teach the gospel and not to legislate it. In addition, God's house should not be moved to the White House. Pastors should also not turn their church or soul saving responsibilities over to any established Government to do their work for them.
In regard to the abortion rights or choice political issue, it is my perspective viewpoint that we should concentrate more on stem cell research that could prevent or cure many of our population's terminally ill citizen's. Should a "right to life" or Conservative Supreme Court Judge be placed on the court, It could very well mean that these medical cures will never become a reality for our present severely ill citizen's as of now or within the next twenty years.
The issue at stake in regard to abortion, is that the U.S. Government should not control a person's private body or medical choices regardless if they should be male or female. In addition, the Fatherly Male also had something to do with any woman's pregnancy, so why not castrate the Fatherly Male? The reason is that courts have ruled against castration of a "male" to protect his reproductive rights unless the male "consents" to the procedure. Do you remember the "Bobbitt" penis removal trial? Why should we therefore punish or deny the "rights" of just the pregnant woman? Should not both man and woman be provided with equal protection under our existing American laws? Does it not take two to tango and have a child? Will all existing churches in this Nation establish orphanage homes at "their expense" and not the tax payers expense to raise any unwanted child until it can be adopted? If the religious right are primarily concerned over an abortion or in regard to a Unwanted Baby, this is what they should do: There is nothing wrong by having a National Day Care Nursery for "all" unwanted babies within any religious church or Christian group across this Nation. From my perspective, the Lord might even reward them in the after life in regard to this endeavor. In addition the "right to life" argument should also be muted by the Religious Right, since the United States are presently killing babies or children on a daily basis as a result of the Iraq War or any other conflict.
WE SHOULD DEMAND THAT OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS IN THE U.S. SENATE SHOULD CONCENTRATE THEIR JUDICIAL QUESTION INQUIRIES OR INVESTIGATIONS IN REGARD TO THE FOLLOWING "DETRIMENTAL" SUBJECT MATTERS THAT EFFECT US ALL AND NOT JUST THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT:
Stem Cell Research, War Tribunals, Presidential War Powers, Prisoner Torture, Human Rights, Civil Rights, Search And Seizures, Voter & Election Fraud, Consumer Protection Laws, Business Anti-trust or Fair Trade Laws, Equal Pay For Women, Gun Control Laws, Free Press Reform Laws, The Patriot & Homeland Security Act should all be included in regard to any U.S. Supreme Court nominee inquiry.
The problem is, will the U.S. Supreme Court nominee be obligated to answer these previous listed topic questions or issues? Our laws should therefore be changed to force any Supreme Court Nominee to answer all questions relating to them. It is also my firm belief that "secrecy" only applies in regard to National Security information. In addition, why in the hell should any Judicial Nominee be exempt from answering any U.S. Senate question since the Judicial Nominee has no idea if he or she will be confirmed to sit on the court or not. To insure the American Public that they are making the right choice on the selection of any Supreme Court Justice, the U.S. Senate should call on Senate Rule 2l as they recently did, and proceed with their questioning in a "private or closed door" Senate Session in regard to any question that any Supreme Court nominee should refuse not to answer in a public hearing. It is simple as that. We should not let our politicians off the hook in regard to this very important judgeship position that in turn will effect each American in regard to their economic livelihood or actual lives over the next decade or beyond.
