I enjoyed your explanation of why we need the electoral college and of
why ballots are thrown out. Voters need to take responsibility for
managing their ballot correctly, and this time around, I wonder if we
should have a test to qualify voters.

It has been asked why absentee ballots would be encouraged. Manning the
polls is not an easy task. The training is quite complex and too much to
learn in a few hours, so a large number of trained people are not that
well trained, and mistakes are highly likely. From a management point of
view, the problems are reduced with mail in ballots, and hopefully, the
participation is increased. In Lane County Oregon all the ballots were
mailed in and there were no polling places. .

And yes, it would be nice to have more dignified and more ethical
leaders.
