I my name is Benjamin W. Merring friends call me Ben.

As a free man I have been exercising my right to travel absent a government issued drivers license for over 20 years. In exercising this inalienable right I have had problems with the law from time to time. Whenever I am arrested and brought before the authorities in hand cuffs I demand a trial by jury. Then exercise my right to remain silent until I am provided with an attorney. To date I have not receive such a trial. My strategy has always been to simply exercise my right and force the authorities charge me with a crime if they feel that I am committing a criminal act

Recently a local magistrate issued a warrant for my arrest. This was a bench warrant to be executed by the constable. The constable was having trouble locating me so he solicited the help of the local police. On July 6. 2005 around 7pm two local police officers and two constables met in front of our house. One constable and the two police officers came to my front door.. My wife and I were both home sleeping in an upstairs bedroom. The constable along with the officers knocked then opened the front door and entered our home.

At this point in time my wife and I were still sleeping but two neighbors witnessed the event and reported it to us.

After being in our home for several minutes they exited and the three of them conversed with the constable still sitting in his car. After conversing the three reentered our home. One officer proceeded to come up stairs then opened the bedroom door announcing that there was a constable down stairs with a warrant for my arrest.

The officer had no warrant in his hand nor did he say that he had a war rent authorizing him to enter my home. I began yelling get out of my house. After being told rrepeatedlyto get out of my house I stated that I was getting a gun. At that point they exited. But they did not leave for the next several hours there were numerous officers in a swat like setting ssurroundingour home. neighbors were ordered inside as the officers sought to get a "better war rent" Around 9:30 they all left and they have never been back. I continue to travel as I have for the past 20 years.

Now I am looking to sue them in federal court and am trying to either find a lawyer to do this or a team of laymen to assist me in filing this myself.

I no longer think it is enough to just exercise this right it. Now seems to be the time to set things right and clearly establish that one does in fact have an inalienable liberty right to travel from place to place in a safe and reasonable manor absent a government issued license.

If you yourself can be of any help please contact me or if you know of someone that would be interested please forward them this email
