CIA met bin Laden in July, says report

(FRANCE) The French newspaper Lefigaro published a
report today that Osama bin Laden was admitted to American
Hospital in Dubai last July. While he was there he was
reportedly visited by the CIA who checked on his condition.

We have no way of verifying the accuracy of this report, but if
there is a shred of truthfulness to it, the U.S. government's
credibility will be significantly weakened in its "War on Terror". Bin Laden has been at the
top of the F.B.I.'s ten most wanted list since the bombings of the American embassies in
Kenya and Tanazania in 1998. It would also support speculation that he is still an asset of
the CIA.

The Lefigaro article was published in French, and we have obtained an exerpt from the
article in the following english translation. The bracketed comments are the translator's.

During his sojourn of 15 days, the Saudi millionaire received a visit from a
local representative of the CIA. That CIA agent was informed of the attendant
