Helicopters on maneuver

I got this...thought you should see it...

in Christ,

Date: Wednesday, 12 October 2005, 12:12 p.m.

For the past several weeks between 7:00 and 9:00 PM, there have been up
to 6 Apache attack helicopters with at least 1 Apache Longbow attack
helicopter, flying in formation completely blacked out directly over my
house moving to the Southwest. Now I have lived close to Ft Hood for
over 8 years and am used to seeing convoys, helicopters, fighters, etc
but since the start of the war in Iraq, much of the "training" has come
to a halt.

Along with the Apache's there have been a few small convoys (up to 10
hummers) with the large laser targeting systems installed traveling
on hwy 190. Fort Hood has numerous places in the area to play war games
but when they are doing exercises such as this, it usually means that
they are practicing for an upcoming event. Not long ago, 3 Apache's
landed on our property. Now when you see three attack helicopters land
your field, you a re going to go see what is going on. When I approached
the pilots (who were just exiting the helicopters shortly after the
rotors stopped rotating), they saw me approach and quickly started
removing patches from there flight suits. I found that to be very odd.
They actually told me they had a mechanical issue with one of the
helicopters so they had to put down ASAP. Why they would quickly remove
all patches (at a frantic pace) was very strange to me.
Thought I would pass this on.
