Repeal of the Davis Bacon Act in the aftermath of Katrina.
Randi Rhodes on C-span today
Randi Rhodes was on C-span this afternoon during their anniversary special. There was another woman whose name I don’t care about but she has a right wing radio show. First time I had ever seen Randi and of course she is one of my favs. She was talking about the president’s repeal of the Davis Bacon Act in the aftermath of Katrina. The other woman was laughing and shaking her head and pretty much saying that what Randi was saying was hogwash. So Randi asked this woman wasn’t it true that the repeal of the act happened. The woman said words, but she wouldn’t answer. Then Randi mentioned the time that Sensenbrenner turned off the microphones during the hearing so the Democrats couldn’t be heard. The other woman said, "Talk about conspiracy theories". Randi said we all saw it on C-span and the other woman began a witchy kind of laughing.
So the show goes on and again Randi asked the woman wasn’t it true about bush’s repealing of the Davis Bacon Act. Like a blonde pit bulldog she kept after this other woman. Finally the woman said she would have to check the "books" to see if it was true. This woman didn’t even know what the hell she was talking about on two hot topics.
And there my sweet children is the difference between the two sides. One side speaks in facts and from knowledge while the other side speaks in spin and ignorance and ideology.
Bottom line is that Randi Rhodes knew her shit and the other woman was just full of it.

Randi Rhodes does indeed ROCK! I've been watching the C-SPAN 25-year call-in & I was kind of respecting Janet's ability to state her case until she started falling into mindless rhetoric. Specifically, when she started talking about how the faith-based community did such a good job in the post-Katrina aftermath. I'm not sure if it was she, or a guest in a later segment, that blamed Clinton for not doing something about New Orleans, but it was similar sentiments.

randi used the subway threat to show we are fighting them over here?
oh come on now.
what she shouldve done was say that she is tired of the fear based government that we now have, that uses terror threats everytime their poll ratings go down.
and she shouldve attacked parshall on referring to the prez speech...a speech that said we must stop the terrorists before they take over countries all the way to spain....exactly how are they going to do that.
but parshall is a bitch, who waited till her "last word" to attack randy directly and then got "upset" when randy behaved rudely.

The wingnuts have done it to you guys again. They now have a liberal arguing FOR the argument that we are fighting them here. Which is not true. The truth is that we are fighting them nowhere. That is why Osama has not been caught. We are not fighting them either here or there.
The point that should be brought up is that Bush has done a bad job and is a poor leader. Now Randi did bring up the point that Osama is still on the loose, and that New Yorkers are owed an explanation as to why he is still on the run. Very good.
But Randi fell for the trap at the end and it was easy for Suzy Homemaker to say, "See, out of control, irrational. How can you believe anything this person says."
We don't debate very well.

Another point that should be brought up is that The almighty US Army can not defeat a bunch of rag-tag inurgents. How can you argue that you are a strong leader if those are your results. One of the main arguements from the right is that Bush is strong and liberal are weak.
Bush is weak. He can't get the job done. Even with the world's most powerful army at his disposal, he's been running in circles chasing his tail.

1). Did Al Queda terrorists plan and stage terrorist attacks against the United States in Iraq before we invaded and destabilized that country?
2). Which group of people predicted that this would happen if we invaded Iraq?
