Washington, Tuesday, September 28, 2004. Militants loyal to Edward Abboud(1) and a shady, amorphous group known as the American Ethnic Underground (AEU) today demanded the immediate dismissal of CBS Evening News talking head Dan Rather (2) for his malicious attack against the American political system. In a tersely worded email communiqué, the terrorists declared Rather’s apology “chutzpah” and “socially and politically contemptuous,” and demanded his unceremonious withdrawal from CBS Evening News by Friday, October 1.
The message sneeringly portrayed Rather’s apology and photo on the front page of the New York Times as “a further degradation of the newspaper’s similar reputation,” and an insult to the consumers of American mass media, particularly television network news. Additionally, they demanded that Viacom also fire Thomas Freston and Leslie Moonves (3), the executive at CBS/Viacom who did not fire Rather. Intelligence analysts speculate that the terrorists gave Rather until Friday in order to achieve viral Internet distribution of their message and increase pressure on Rather, CBS, and Viacom. (4)
The communiqué threatens to behead a corporate entity unless the terrorists’ demands are met. The “corporate entity” widely regarded to be target is the reputation of Publisher’s Weekly (PW), a self-proclaimed bellwether of the politically bombed-out American publishing industry.
These high-tech, domestic terrorists have demonstrated an ability to use weapons of mass media (WMM) against the reputation of a corporate entity. The recent nomination of PW senior editor Sarah Gold for a Jonathan Pollard award (5) is seen by intelligence analysts as terrorist ‘chatter’ related to an impending attack against the magazine. AEU is known to have experts who can assemble and fire crude but effective coincidence engines capable of destroying corporate reputations.

Jonathan Pollard Award Nominations for 2004
Each year, the American Ethnic Underground strives to recognize work that has contributed significantly to the destruction of American culture, freedoms and values. The Jonathan Pollard Award recognizes socially and politically compromised individuals, like Jonathan Pollard (1), for their relentless and outstanding duplicity in the guise of service to their government, or to the people of the United States.
