On Sept 14, the Orwellian federal “anti-hate” bill, AMDT.2662
(The Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2005),
was passed by the House of Representatives. It will establish a
“hate crimes” bureaucracy in America, just like Canada’s, ending
free speech.
This legislation gives special federal protection to select
groups including homosexuals. Throughout history, many
homosexuals have sodomized underage boys. Incredibly, AMDT.2662
was inserted into the text of the Children’s Safety Act of 2005
(HR3132). Many house members, too busy to read the bill, thought
they were protecting children. Actually, they were doing the
opposite!
The Children’s Safety Act has now been referred to the Senate
Judiciary Committee under the chair of veteran “hate laws”
advocate Sen. Arlen Specter. If the Senate Judiciary Committee
allows the wording of the Children’s Safety Act and its evil
rider, AMDT.2662, to remain unaltered, after being approved by
the Senate it will go directly to President Bush to be signed
into law.
But if Senate Judiciary Committee members are bombarded NOW with
complaints, there is a chance they will modify some of the
language of hate bill 2662. This would create a conflict between
the House and Senate versions that must be resolved in a
conference between the House and Senate. This conference will
provide a tremendous opportunity to yet save free speech.
Throughout the past six years, feisty Republican conferees have
repeatedly cut the hate bill from legislation to which it had
been attached. There is an excellent chance this can happen
again if you do the following:
1. Talk Show Hosts: Immediately book me at 503-631-3808 for an
alert to your listeners! A minimum of 30 minutes will be
necessary. Your career as a free speech talk show host is
literally on the line, so don’t wait! Sen. Arlen Specter,
passionate supporter of hate crimes legislation, could
fast-track approval at any moment. If that happens, your career
in free speech talk radio is doomed.
2. Everyone: First, post the two articles in this e-alert on
your websites. Email and fax these alerts to as many as
possible, and encourage them to do the same. Second, email and
fax the second article “New Federal 'Hate' Bill Means Funeral of
Free Speech” to members of the Senate Judiciary Committee,
especially Republicans. Most senators require that you email
this article through a web form. Third, phone members of the
Senate Judiciary Committee, and your senators especially
Republicans. Tell them to “Cut the hate crimes bill AMDT.2662,
off the Children’s Protection Act, HR 3132,” and to not approve
any “anti-hate” bills.
3. Find the Republican website for your state. (example,
oregongop.org) It will provide about 75 email address's for GOP
leaders in your state. Send them these two articles: "Hate Bill
Could Be Approved Any Minute!!" and "New Federal 'Hate' Bill
Means
Funeral of Free Speech."
