Wow, talk about deja vu. This sounds like a replay of the Nixon regime, when Catholic activists were prosecuted to the fullest extent Nixon could muster - remember Daniel Berrigan and his group and the Minnesota 8, led by former monk Frank Kroncke?
The big difference this time is that even under Nixon there was still some remnants of a free media left. Those cases were highly publicized. Today, such critical cases are given 30 seconds on the nightly news at best, while the Michael Jackson trial or whether or not Jennifer Anniston is dating again merits entire programs.
