25-Foot Pig Greets Returning Lawmakers

http://www.thewgalchannel.com/news/4991541/detail.html HARRISBURG, Pa. -- A big, pink inflatable pig with the words "Repeal the Illegal Legislative Pay Raise" emblazoned on its side is causing quite a stir outside the Capitol today, where state senators are set to get back to work after their summer break.
Political activist Gene Stilp set up the 25 foot-tall swine. He said he's not going to let lawmakers forget about the pay raise the voted in for themselves in July.

"This is the first time that the legislators have been back in session for three months. They've been hiding for three months, so we wanted to make sure we confronted them with the 'no pay raise' pig," Stilp said.
Stilp said he and his supporters are going to keep going after the senators, who he said are out of touch.

SURVEY: Do you think the pay raise should be repealed?
While the focus outside the capitol building is on the pay raise, inside, senators will likely be focused on other matters -- such as Gov. Ed Rendell's fall agenda.
Some of those issues include property tax reform, increasing the minimum wage to $7.15 an hour and levying stricter penalties for sex offenders.
