UNITED NATIONS: Real Democracy Must Prevail Over Partyocracy in USA & Beyond
Text of fax broadcast:
NEW YORK, NEW YORK * 13 SEPTEMBER 2006 Citizen of the USA Stephen M. St. John addresses the international community in Washington and here in New York City, all members of the US Congress as well as other organizations and individuals, public and private, and recognizes and appreciates the distinct honor bestowed upon his nation and his city as hosts of the United Nations headquarters. Citizen St. John salutes the United Nations as a rare exemplar of pristine democracy whereby each member state is free to choose to abstain from voting for or against any issue brought before it for decision. In stark contrast to this classic exercise of democracy, Citizen St. John notes with regret that controlling interests in the USA maintain a partyocracy in the guise of real democracy; this unhealthy state of affairs results in widespread voter apathy or else a compromised choice of "the lesser of two evils" or of "Tweedle Dum" versus "Tweedle Dee" in the minds of voters. For example, there was a voter turnout of only 17% at the Democratic primary on 13 September 2005 here in New York City; the incumbent Manhattan District Attorney was reelected for the umpteenth time without challenge to his passivity with respect to the attacks of 9/11 within his jurisdiction and despite public opinion polls that overwhelmingly rejected the findings of the 9/11 Commission. Citizen St. John furthermore notes that these same controlling interests that so effectively promote lies and half-truths and stifle debate on issues as important as 9/11 also impose partyocracy in the guise of democracy on other nations and in the process have destroyed lives, governments and even the nations themselves. Citizen St. John defines these controlling interests as the military-industrial complex combined with news & entertainment media corporations, all imbued with Zionism and its Talmudic license to kill. The right to abstain will help enable voters to end this plague and secure traditional American values and respect.
