Restore the American Dream
The legacy of the American Dream - the idea that America would always be a place where anyone could succeed with enough hard work and determination - is alive and well.
Butwith an economy on the wrong track and wages that don't keep up with the cost of living, increasingly the American Dream falls out of the reach of many.
This Labor Day, as most members of Congress prepare for the November election by holding campaign events to talk about their plans for our country's future, let's make sure restoring the American Dream - for all working families - is on the agenda.
A new survey of working people conducted by Change to Win ( www.changetowin.org ) found overwhelmingly that workers feel the country's economy is off on the wrong track and over half believe the next generation will be worse off than the current.
Not only that, but workers are also very concerned about rising health care costs, wages not keeping up with the cost of living and the impact of rising gas prices.
