FBI Launches 'Preemptive' Investigations

If FBI agents confront you, the courts have ruled you must identify yourself. You should politely show your ID
(ask for permission to go into your pocket or purse to get your ID) then state your name. YOU SHOULD THEN ASK FOR THEIR NAMES and also ask for them to identify themselves as well.

However the court did not say you had to do more than identify who you are.
When asked other questions you could just keep stating your name with each question.

The New York Times said, three members of Congress wrote to the Justice Department asking it to probe the FBI visits, calling them “systematic political harassment and intimidation of legitimate antiwar protests,”
