It was not a good week for tolerance. Senator George Allen got himself in hot water for his "Macaca" comment directed at a young, Indian-American campaign staffer. But that isolated incident of insensitivity wasn't the only troubling news this week.

There was the alarming poll that that illustrates a high lievel of anti-Islam sentiment among Americans

Or how about the Baltimore-area man who terrorized a local candidate because of his religion?

On this week's show, Welton will explore the reasons behind religious and cultural intolerance within the political arena, with help from Democratic political consultant Dave "Mudcat" Saunders, author of Foxes in the Henhouse: How the Republicans Stole the South, and What the Democrats Must Do to Run 'em Out.



We'll also hear from UCC Minister Robin Meyers, who'll discuss his book, Why the Christian Right is Wrong: A Minister's Manifesto for Taking Back Your Faith, Your Flag, Your Future.
