It's official.

The Texas Office of the State Comptroller has begun mailing out forms to business owners requiring them to re-code their businesses using the new "North American Industry Classification System."

Updates For Small Business And Industry

The Texas Comptroller's Office is currently informing business owners and
officers of the IRS' requirement of re-registering Texas businesses, formerly
listed under the "Standard Industry Classification System," into the new
"North American Industry Classification System."

According to the form letter, The NAICS was developed jointly by the U.S., Canada and Mexico to provide
new comparability in statistics about business activity in North America.

Recently, television and billboard campaigns were launched in San Antonio, Texas. The billboard in the
picture below introduces the "Mexicans and Americans Thinking Together (MATT) campaign.

This billboard stands at the intersection of IH-10 West and Wurzbach, just east of Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
