Congressional Candidate to Go On Hunger Strike Over Kidnapped Children

“I’ve done it twice to win my own freedom, I think I could do it again to win my children’s freedom.” Todd said in a press release issued today. Todd said his wife had been drinking everyday for the past two years and became more and more abusive until three weeks ago when she threatened murder and suicide in front of his six children. He said he decided if she was still acting suicidal Monday morning he would call someone and let them know what was going on.

Todd said his wife said she didn’t want to live after asking her to stand by her decision not to visit friends they found out were using dangerous drugs and was going to quit her job, he had helped her get at KHSU Radio at Humboldt State University. Todd said he called 911 but there was not enough police to come out. he said his wife called her daughter that ran away because of similar abuse by her. She then called Todd’s son in Washington from a previous marriage, whom he had only visited four times in 20 years and had him pretend to be supportive and then kidnap Todd’s four children against their will, while Todd went to the store. Todd had spoken to the sheriff and was considering a restraining order at the time and that was son’s said reason for taking the children at the time. Todd say’s the step-daughters husband has help Diane get and attorney and his son and two step-daughters along with Diane are making false statement to stay out of jail.

Todd said his wife became abusive to him and his children and at one point last summer, had stripped off all her clothes and took a neck tie to hang herself when all the family stopped her. The police came on one occasion because of her being drunk and slapping her oldest daughter living at home. After that point Todd said he started going his separate way, not drinking, arguing, and allowed her to abuse him away she wanted until three weeks ago when he thought his children’s live were in danger from her behavior, “ It was mainly her looking for my gun and threatening to commit murder suicide in front of the children that made my mind up.” Todd said. “Since I don’t have a lot of money to get justice I have to be creative, and a hunger strike is the cheapest way to go. So, send my babies home where they belong. And I won‘t press charges on anyone.”

Todd says he has tried to avoid having anyone in the family charged with a crime, but soon it will be out of his hands once everyone sees what has been to his four children. “It is very abusive for a woman who fled her home because she knew what she did was wrong and then to have my four children who were safe taken to her, against their will, by a son who is mentally ill, as was his grandmother, and grandfather, on his mother’s side of the family. He didn’t us a car seat, he was carrying drugs, and endangering them when they found out they were tricked and now they are at a step-daughter’s home I never let them visit and being showered with gifts and promises, and turned on their own father so they won’t want to come back.” Todd said.

Todd says he is still running for Wally Herger’s Congressional Seat and is only fasting to bring public attention to this injustice being done to his children and family.”
