The American success author Dan Brown released a world-wide discussion with its best-seller "Illuminati": Is there the ominoesen secret federation "really illuminated"? And does it actually aim at a new world order? A tracing.

In Dan Browns best-seller "Illuminati" tries a group of powerful conspirators to destroy the catholic church. The conspirators call themselves "Illuminati", which illuminated. They communicate to Ambigrammen so mentioned with secret messages, and do not even frighten before murder and homicide back, in order to achieve the world domination. Only in a dramatic Showdown Harvard professor Robert Langdon, Dan Browns hero succeeds in stopping the mischief.

The book is not a novel, a factual report, but it released nevertheless a world-wide discussion over the "Illuminati". Again and again with the fact it is maintained that the secret company actually exists and aims at a new world order. Depending upon author of the discussion contributions the top management of the "Illuminati" consists of radical Jews or in the opposite of Antisemiten and neo-Nazis. Others say, the club OF Rome, which are World Bank and even the United Nations of the brother shank infiltrated.

That the members of these absolutely peaceful sparkling wines are brought with the Illuminati in connection, is however nothing unusual. There is hardly a social or religious grouping, to which not sometime in its history happened.
From this fact leave themselves different, absolutely opposite conclusions pull - and all have their advocates.

First of all: The Illuminati are everywhere and have most social institutions, from which group of terror infiltrates aluminium-Quaida over the German Federal Bank up to the US government and the Vatikan. Thus they would have their goal, which achieves secret world domination, already long.

Secondly: The Illuminati sets each quantity of conspiracy theories into the world, in order to divert from the fact that they exist really somewhere as small, powerful group. If everything and everyone are suspected - also that is a usual theory -, can themselves the true Illuminati the better camouflage.

Thirdly: There are at all no Illuminati, it serves only as projektionsflaeche for all people, which suffer from pursuit illusion. This theory represents for example the American writer and conspiracy researcher Robert Anton Wilson: "the history of the Illuminati and the conspiracy plotted by them supplies all to those with, which are guessed/advised from the mental equilibrium, a hunting ground, in that it out-raves itself can." For itself taken each of these versions sounds plausible. But for none of it there are sound proofs. Or nevertheless?

The Bavarian authority however regarded it as dangerous revolutionaries and smashed the grouping after straight times ten years. At this time the Illuminati had eingenistet itself however long in the residents of Munich Freimaurer freimaurer-Loge, in groupings in Mainz, Bonn and Wetzlar as well as in the realm Court of Appeal and in the Bavarian Academy of Sciences. Andere sind sich sicher, dass die Illuminati bis heute existieren. Damit meinen sie aber nicht die verschiedenen Gruppen und Personen, die sich selbst als Illuminati bezeichnen. Wer das öffentlich – zum Beispiel im Internet – tut, sei keiner. Denn für jeden echten Illuminatus gelte noch immer das absolute Geheimhaltungsgebot. Also müssen die Illuminati heute unter den Deckmantel einer anderen Organisation geschlüpft sein – falls es sie überhaupt noch gibt.

Die Verschwörungstheoretiker haben sich deshalb darauf spezialisiert, versteckte Hinweise auf die Existenz des Clubs zu erkennen. Beispielsweise fiel ihnen auf, dass sich Adam Weishaupt und der amerikanische Gründungspräsident George Washington (1732 – 1799) verblüffend ähnlich sehen. Daraus schlossen sie, dass Weishaupt nach dem Verbot der Illuminati in Bayern nach Amerika flüchtete und dort als George Washington in das höchste Staatsamt kam. Ob er Washington tötete, um seinen Platz einzunehmen, oder ob es George Washington nie gegeben hat und Weishaupt mit einem gefälschten Lebenslauf zum ersten US-Präsidenten wurde, darüber herrscht in diesen Kreisen Uneinigkeit. Dumm für diese Theorie ist nur, dass Weishaupt ab 1786 nachweislich in Gotha lebte, zahlreiche Schriften verfasste und dort 1830 auch starb.

Ein anderer Beleg für die ungeminderte Macht der Illuminati ist für viele Verschwörungstheoretiker die amerikanische Ein-Dollar-Note. Auf ihrer Vorderseite sieht man George Washington (den angeblichen Adam Weishaupt). Spannender ist aber die Rückseite. Dort prangt das Staatssiegel der Vereinigten Staaten – es entspricht dem Siegel der Illuminati: eine 13-stufige Pyramide mit einem von einem Lichtkranz umgebenen Auge in der Spitze. Darunter prangt der Schriftzug NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM – neue Weltordnung – und die römische Zahl MDCCLXXVI – 1776, das Gründungsjahr der Illuminaten.

Stellen die Illuminati etwa auf der Dollarnote frech ihre ungeheure finanzielle und politische Macht zur Schau? Der wahre Grund ist viel weniger sensationell: Viele der Gründerväter Amerikas und auch George Washington selbst gehörten Freimaurer-Logen an. Der Illuminaten-Forscher Simon Cox: »Im Staatssiegel sind tatsächlich Freimaurer-Symbole enthalten; einige Gründerväter waren Freimaurer, und Henry Wallace, der das Siegel auf die Dollarnote drucken ließ, war ganz ohne Zweifel ein Mitglied der Geheimgesellschaft. Dies beweist jedoch lediglich, dass all diese Menschen Kinder ihrer Zeit waren und Freimaurer-Logen angehörten, als dies in besseren Kreisen ganz normal war.«

Eine dritte Spur führt wieder nach Amerika, diesmal in die ominöse Geheimgesellschaft »Skull and Bones« (Schädel und Knochen), die vor fast 200 Jahren an der amerikanischen Eliteuniversität Yale gegründet wurde. Offiziell nennt sie sich Russell Trust Association. Viele wichtige Politiker der USA gehören zu ihren derzeit etwa 800 Mitgliedern. US-Präsident George W. Bush ist ebenso ein »Bonesman« (Knochenmann) wie sein Vater oder sein Herausforderer im letzten Wahlkampf, John Kerry. Wahrscheinlich herrscht bei den »Skull and Bones« die höchste Dichte an einflussreichen Personen weltweit. Und es existiert tatsächlich eine Verbindung zu den Illuminati. Der Yale-Student William H. Russel hatte Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts den Geheimbund gegründet, nachdem er bei einem Studienaufenthalt in Europa mit einer deutschen Geheimgesellschaft in Berührung gekommen war. Heute noch kann man die europäischen Wurzeln der »Skull and Bones« erkennen. Eines der traditionellen Lieder der Gesellschaft wird zur Melodie der deutschen Nationalhymne gesungen, und die Aufnahmerituale erinnern an die der Illuminati des 18. Jahrhunderts.

Die ehemalige Yale-Studentin Alexandra Robbins, die jahrelang innerhalb der »Skull and Bones«-Organisation rechiercherte, hält es grundsätzlich für fragwürdig, dass Repräsentanten eines demokratischen Staates – wie etwa der US-Präsident – gleichzeitig Mitglieder einer geheimen Organisation sind, in der einfluss-reiche Männer unkontrolliert von der Öffentlichkeit ein informelles Netzwerk der Macht aufbauen und vermutlich nicht Kochrezepte austauschen, sondern Politik betreiben. Aber einen Beweis dafür, dass der Geheimclub eine Tarnorganisation der wahren Illuminati ist, hat auch sie nicht gefunden. Lediglich die schon erwähnte Übereinstimmung zwischen den Ritualen der Illuminati und denjenigen der »Bonesmen« konnte sie enttarnen. Erstaunlich ist auch, dass George Bush sen. 1991 als US-Präsident ohne jede Scheu davon sprach, dass eine neue Weltordnung nach Ende des Kalten Krieges notwendig und wünschenswert sei. Er schien sich nicht daran zu stören, dass dieses Wort durch die Verwendung bei den Illuminaten einen Beigeschmack hat.

Auffällig ist, dass fast alle Verschwörungstheoretiker Amerika im Visier haben, wenn sie an die Illuminati denken. Dafür gibt es Gründe. Erstens ist Amerika zurzeit das mächtigste Land der Welt, also wäre es nur logisch, wenn eine Organisation, welche die Welt beherrschen will, sich dort breit macht. Zweitens scheinen die USA auch besonders attraktiv für die Fans von Verschwörungstheorien zu sein, jedenfalls gibt es dort mehr von ihnen als sonst irg
