STOP BLOCKING A CEASEFIRE BETWEEN LEBANON AND THE ZIONISTS
(text of fax broadcast)
NEW YORK, NEW YORK * 31 JULY 2006 Citizen of the USA Stephen M. St. John addresses the international community in Washington and here in New York City, all members of the US Congress, as well as other organizations and individuals, public and private, and calls upon the Secretary General of the United Nations, Mr. Kofi Annan, to take a firmer stand against those blocking a cease-fire so urgently needed in southern Lebanon. In this regard, Citizen St. John recalls his hearing the ambassadors of Lebanon and Syria address the General Assembly in the same afternoon session a few years ago, when they both referred to the Shebaa Farms as Lebanese territory occupied by the Zionist state. Wherefore, Citizen St. John asks, why the controversy over a settled matter between two brotherly states? Why the occasion for needless provocation, with tragic results, and further obfuscation, especially in the Western news media? Where two states are openly agreed on their mutual border, shouldn't the United Nations also be agreed? Citizen St. John notes that on this issue of Shebaa Farms, among others, turns the question of the future of the United Nations; will the United Nations become a pernicious one world government based on the fraud and force of a psychopathic Zionist Neoconservative agenda of world domination, or will it remain a free assembly of nations rededicated to the principles and purposes of the Charter of the United Nations? Noting the long history of US military, economic and diplomatic support for the Zionist state, and US policy in this present instance to prolong and exacerbate the strife in southern Lebanon, Citizen St. John urges the Secretary General to invoke article 27.3 of the Charter of the United Nations, whereby a member of the Security Council such as the USA must abstain from voting on the pacific settlement of a dispute to which it is a party.
