would-be ChristianClarificationFri Jul 30, 2004 14:28206.58.228.74Clarification:Matthew, 23: 1-3“Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, saying, “The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do, but do not ye after their works, for they say, and do not.”Obey the law: don’t kill, don’t steal, don’t assault, don’t attack, don’t rebel, etc.So what’s left to do?For sinners, very little except to get ensnared in vice, debauchery, and idol worship (ie: love of money). But for the righteous (those who are --or who want to be-- as they ought to be) there remains the creation of what is good.It tells us at James, 4:7 “Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”So resist the temptations and provocations of evil. There is no need to fight. As long as you resist the devil’s rulership, he will flee from you. So why chase him down?Because if you chase him down to fight him, you have just submitted to his rulership. After we have resisted the devil,we learn why at James, 4:8 “Draw close to God, and God will draw close to you.”Do you see the difference between fighting evil and drawing close to God.When you set yourself up to fight evil, you draw close to evil. When you set yourself up to love God, you draw close to God.You are not to submit to evil.Romans 131 Peter 2:13-17Titus, 3: 1-2Hebrews, 13: 17Matthew, 5:18-20These verses do not ask any person (Christian or otherwise) to enforce evil regulations, to work for the pursuit of evil, or to yield to evil deeds or attitudes. What it does ask all of us to do is to work toward what is good.Hebrews chapter 13, verse 6: “So that we may bodly say, ‘The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me’ ...”Now take this on to verse 17: “Obey them that have rule over you ..” which DOES NOT mean to submit to evil but rather NOT TO FIGHT OR OPPOSE evil because it is not necessary.Resist the devil and he will flee. The devil has no power over the righteous.“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.”Hebrews, 12:15“He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.”1 John, 3:14A good example of wordly government is at Revelation,13: 1-8. The beast rising up out of the sea. This is pretty much the cult of Nimrod.Do not try to fight this as fighting it gives it its power.Rev, 13: 7 “... and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.”Move close to God, and the cult of death will disappear.Fight the cult and the cult will swallow you whole.“Put on therefore as the elect of God, holy and beloved, hearts of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing oneanother and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any, even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.And above allthese things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts.”Colossians, 3:12-15 Twisting Scriptures James Dierbeck, Fri Jul 30 14:52 Christians, false Christians and Jews Dorna, Fri Jul 30 18:50 "and Satan came among them"-Job 1:6 James Dierbeck, Fri Jul 30 19:30 A Deal ROSE KING, Fri Jul 30 18:55
