I want to use this space for house party participants to share a few words about the Rove-gate/Downing Street Minutes events that you hosted or attended this weekend. The blog has been overwhelmed with responses and new registrations are coming along slowly. In the interim we will post submissions we have received by email. I should note, this entry will be strictly on-topic.
Saturday's events were a resounding success. Over 320 people nationwide signed up on JohnConyers.com to host house parties on Rove-gate and the Downing Street Minutes. More than 8,000 people registered online as guests, but it is clear that a far greater number were in attendance.

Convicted Previously of National Security Crimes, Elliott Abrams Joins Rove and Libby as Latest Figures Newest Figure in Traitor-gate
Dear Friend:
Did you know that Elliot Abrams, pardoned by the first President Bush for the Iran-Contra crimes he committed under the Reagan Administration, now works for the Bush White House? And has been implicated in the leak of Valerie Plame's covert identity?
I have sent a letter to President Bush asking him to say right now that he will not pardon anyone found guilty of criminal offenses related to the disclosure of Valerie Plame’s CIA cover. Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald may indict senior White House officials in this case. Join me in demanding that the President not pardon anyone found guilty in his administration who compromises our national security! Our goal is to get at least 10,000 people to email the White House and we will post our tally updates daily on the JohnConyers.com website.
Nine of my Judiciary Committee colleagues also joined me yesterday in sending a letter to the Inspector General seeking an investigation into the 12-hour delay taken by Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez before notifying White House staff of the need to preserve documents relating to the Department of Justice’s Valerie Plame leak investigation. Even more troubling is that the Department of Justice only began its investigation 67 days after the CIA first requested it, and only after the Agency asked DoJ four times. Treason-gate House Parties
Ambassador Joseph Wilson joined me on a conference call into 320 House Parties with Air America host Randi Rhodes and Democracy Radio's Stephanie Miller. In the call, Ambassador Wilson touched on an element of the emerging scandal with the Administration's leak of Valerie Plame's CIA cover that we would all do well to keep in mind. The Administration's leaks and the Downing Street memos are part of the same issue: they both reflect desperate attempts by the Bush White House to preserve this web of lies that got us into this war under false pretenses.

John Dimitri Negroponte. Born in London on July 21, 1939, just before the outbreak of the second world war, he was the son of Dimitri, a Greek shipping magnate, and Catherine. He grew up in England, Switzerland and New York, where his father settled.
