Ronin Blinking Red: The 9/11 commission has made it so easy. Mon Jul 26, 2004 18:34 64.140.158.114 -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [Quigs_Fight] The 9/11 commission has made it so easy. Date: Mon, 26 Jul 2004 21:27:57 +0100 From: Ronin ron_winn@lineone.net Blinking Red. Forget Iraq. Iraq is a lost cause. Car bombs and assassinations have become daily, if not weekly events. The people can only be onlookers. But the 9/11 commission have done your work for you. You have the tools. You have the spanner that can be put into the works. The commission has made it so easy for you. To really get the picture of the report from the 9/11 commission, to which the title of this piece is derived you must forget everything you know or think you know about 9/11. The main reason is that this report deals with the months before Sept of 2001 which means that the people in the CIA & FBI thought they had all the time in the world to play their games. I want you to look at the following the same way. Forget the report of 15 Saudis hijackers. Rewind back to the time when:- MICHAEL SPRINGMAN: In Saudi Arabia I was repeatedly ordered by high level State Dept officials to issue visas to unqualified applicants. These were, essentially, people who had no ties either to Saudi Arabia or to their own country. I complained bitterly at the time there. I returned to the US, I complained to the State Dept here, to the General Accounting Office, to the Bureau of Diplomatic Security and to the Inspector General's office. I was met with silence. SPRINGMAN: What I was protesting was, in reality, an effort to bring recruits, rounded up by Osama Bin Laden, to the US for terrorist training by the CIA. They would then be returned to Afghanistan to fight against the then-Soviets. Alright, it was against Springman's principles but we can understand what was happening here. These things happen, right. But fast forward to:- "A June 12 CIA report passing along biographical background information on several terrorists mentioned, in commenting on Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, that he was recruiting people to travel to the United States to meet with colleagues already there so that they might conduct terrorist attacks on Bin Ladin’s behalf. On June 22, the CIA notified all its station chiefs about intelligence suggesting a possible al Qaeda suicide attack on a U.S. target over the next few days. DCI Tenet asked that all U.S. ambassadors be briefed.12 That same day, the State Department notified all embassies of the terrorist threat and updated its worldwide public warning. In June, the State Department initiated the Visa Express program in Saudi Arabia as a security measure, in order to keep long lines of foreigners away from vulnerable embassy spaces. The program permitted visa applications to be made through travel agencies, instead of directly at the embassy or consulate.13 On June 28, Clarke wrote Rice that the pattern of al Qaeda activity indicating attack planning over the past six weeks “had reached a crescendo.” “A series of new reports continue to convince me and analysts at State, CIA, DIA [Defense Intelligence Agency], and NSA that a major terrorist attack or series of attacks is likely in July,” he noted. One al Qaeda intelligence report warned that something “very, very, very, very” big was about to happen, and most of Bin Ladin’s network was reportedly anticipating the attack. In late June, the CIA ordered all its station chiefs to share information on al Qaeda with their host governments and to push for immediate disruptions of cells.17" End. One can see that as much as the warning was very, very big the visa procedures were very, very fast. Unless this is seen as an attempt at disruption of al-Qaida cells, taking out of the pool of potential al-Qaida recruits, it doesn't make sense. Russia had been long gone from Afghanistan in June 2001. Apart from the fact that a warning of a very, very big one and later a "slum dunk" sign that:- "In mid-July, reporting started to indicate that Bin Ladin’s plans had been delayed, maybe for as long as two months, but not abandoned. On July 23, the lead item for CSG discussion was still the al Qaeda threat, and it included mention of suspected terrorist travel to the United States.28" End. May be you can guess what comes next. If any terrorist were travelling to the US they were not going to use an old 727 or 707 and fly out from some secret airfield and land at night and storm America on suicide missions, not requiring visas. So wasn't the US laying on an easy way to fetch in terrorists that they were so worried about? At the end of July "no one was looking for a foreign threat to domestic targets. The threat that was coming was not from sleeper cells. It was foreign—but from foreigners who had infiltrated into the United States." This snippet of information takes some working out. Not sleepers but infiltrates. Not those who had been resident for a long time but those who had come in with the intention of not becoming sleepers but to be on a short stay and move in and make themselves nearly at home but no resident. How precise can you get. These terrorists are only infiltrates. Man, how did they flunk 9/11 you must wonder being so precise at who the baddies were. But is there a clue in this short sentence. These people who coming in from Saudi Arabia. If they were the American embassy in Saudi Arabia would have been shut down (the US embassy in Yemen was closed). So who were these foreigners who could not have been Saudi Arabians? And why was the doors into the US opened wider than they had ever been during a warning of a very ,very big one? To stop visa applications if infiltrators were the chief suspects would have been the most sensible thing to do. Unless of course you wanted to really mess up the issue of who those infiltrators were and then of course there would have been a definite delay of two months.
