There is an old saying that “War is Hell”
That is the truth, ask any veteran. So whether or not you believe in what is happening in Iraq, our soldiers both male and female deserve our best. Being deployed for a career soldier is part of the job, not so for a National Guardsman or Reservist. Their jobs are of the more mundane everyday kind. Dodging bullets and RPG’s are not part of the job description for the majority of soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan in their real everyday lives.

The following list has been sent to us by a soldier serving with The Combat Support Hospital in Mosul, Iraq. Some of these items are for the children; the “collateral numbers” of any war, some for the soldiers themselves, all are for making the lives of the men, women, and children who are in difficult times a bit more palatable.

We at AIR AMERIACA PHOENIX, The Veterans For Peace, and the companies listed as drop-off points THANK YOU for your support and donations

Bruce Springsteen: "Bring 'Em Home, Bring 'Em Home"
Bruce Springsteen sings "Bring 'Em Home, Bring 'Em Home" on NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien. The song is part of Springsteen's new album "We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions". The song is based on Seeger's Vietnam-era ballad "Bring 'Em Home".

Abbie's typically smart quotes: "Democracy is not something you believe in or hang your hat on, but something you do. You participate. If you stop doing it, democracy crumbles and falls. If you participate, the future is yours."
"Something you do. You participate."

Abbie Hoffman
Noted American radical and one of the infamous "Chicago Seven."
His work confirmed for the subject the possibilities of employing improvisational techniques in the creation of "Happenings" with non-actors.
