Your article is great, but runs short of the truth. It is known that the smallest of local governments are now on the federal dole ( loans and grants ). Even the smallest townships employ "enforcement officers" who harass , abuse and intimidate their neighbors by "doing their job" and compelling behavior of the people. In 1776, there were lawyers, but no Bar Assoc, there were laws protecting life and property, but no compelled behavior and no UCC. There were land patents and property, but no real estate. People travelled, unhindered, using the transportation devices of the day, but there were no driver's licences. There were peace officers, but no Law ( statute and code) enforcers or police officers. The Sheriff was the only elected and legitimate criminal investigator and he arrested criminals who hurt others and commited property crimes. There was no Standing army of the State (State Police), no DNR or DEA or other nonsensical crap like that. The long train of abuses has reached the lowest levels and the smallest of municipal corporations, which also didin't exist back then. I disagree that anything short of abolishing the government in whatever manner is necessary will do. To date, history cannot show any evil empire voting itself back into submission. The time is passed for voting. Besides, you have to be a Federal citizen to vote, free Citizens are not allowed to do so. AM XIV to the US constitution, created a new class of citizen..more subjects who yield to Federal authority.... You see the big stuff and I agree with you, but even the resources of a small community can ( and do) break a local person down and deprive him of due process of the liitle he may have had. These practices are unacceptable.
