Robert "Fahrenheit 9-11" - Who said the FBI wasn't on the job?Fri Jun 25, 2004 21:1964.140.159.224 June 25, 2004 - 6:00 pmThis is not a "Letter to the Editor!" I saw the movie "Fahrenheit 9-11" this afternoon - first showing at the UA theater on Victory Boulevard! After reading reviews panning it but many more awarding it from 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 stars I really did not know what to expect! The "big mustache" reviewed it this morning and at the same time didn't review it. He said see it and decide for yourself. It started with a portrayal of the 9/11 attack on the WTC by showing the shocking reactions of the men and women in the street. But, it did not walk on the bodies of the victims. It moved through a series of vignettes that by themselves were damning and in some instances shocking. Most of us who have followed these stories over the last several years if not more were really not provided with much new! But, the use of pictures of the participants at the scene of the action captured the audience as a simple narrative or printed article could not. What shocked me the most was one vignette of the woman who lost her army Sergeant son and who received his last letter to her after she was told he was dead. The letter is a chilling indictment of the war in Iraq that was fabricated by the administration and which has a lot to say about Mr. Bush himself! Even more "heartbreaking" was her visit to the front of the walled in White House with its sharpshooters perched on the roof. Perhaps an equal shock came not just from the questions posed by the soldiers on the front line but on what Mr. Bush is turning these heroes of our country into. To paraphrase one private's comment. "Each time I kill someone a part of me dies." Although there were a few quick pictures of the dead Iraqi (collateral damage) children, it did not portray gratuitous bloodshed as other movies have and that have received ratings permitting teen agers in without parents. For the obvious reasons, the powers that be do not want Americans to see this war movie - particularly those aged 15-25 who will be asked to fight it. Michael Moore observed that only one member of Congress had a son fighting in Iraq. So, an amusing segment (if one could find anything about this movie really amusing) was his "buttonholing" Congressman as they entered the Congress and asked them if they'd have their own sons and daughters sign up for Iraq.Every man woman and child over (let's say) age 12 in America should see this documentary!--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I am a little surprised that he left out any mention of "The Pentagon" which could well be the real key to what lhappened on 9/11.Designated by various numbers (FBI, PENTAGON, CIA) - in various reports): Jose Velasquez, a Costa Rican native runs the gas station, open only to Department of Defense personnel, between the Pentagon and the Navy Annex." I knew something was wrong. The planes come more from the north and west [to land at Reagan National Airport] not from the south. And not so low. It was like an earthquake," "By the time I got outside all I could see was a giant cloud of smoke, first white then black, coming from the Pentagon," Velasquez says the gas station's security cameras are close enough to the Pentagon to have recorded the moment of impact. "I've never seen what the pictures looked like, The FBI was here "within minutes" and took the film."Who said the FBI wasn't on the job?
