Some of you remember the CB Radio which started in the 60's and became the CELLULAR PHONE LOCAL for many. Today CB Radios have up to 120 Channels in ones having Upper and Lower Sideband PLUS AM standard 40 Channels. The magnetic mount Antennae tuned and stored in a trunk or behind the front seat along with the cigarette lighter plug for power gives anyone a potent BASE RADIO whether mobile or home. High antennae on a residence or building could ZONE off an entire County or Municipality. FEMA likes the SAT PHONES but they cost perhaps $899 in a Hurricane Emergency Kit consisting of the Glogalstar 1600 and car adapter each from www.BexCall.com or dial 1-800-651-4437 TOLL FREE and with a prepay of $1440 for some 6,000 minutes it gets expensive and will not work inside a building without an additional antennae cost. We rely on CB RADIO with pre-tuned magnetic antenna and cigarette lighter plug for INSTANT communications with Channel 9 REACT Monitored by many agencies and Channel 19 a Truckers Channel normally. Cost about $150.00 from a local CB Shop or on Internet from COBRA or any other manufacturer.
ALL Government units could install or be issued CB RADIO's with Antenna for about $150.00 each PLUS adding a 3,000 Watt Inverter for auxillary power these individual vehicles, helicopter and aircraft with CB RADIO attached could communicate with ALL AGENCIES in plain language in any emergency. Something ALL missed in Katrina! Those Inverters can also be used to PUMP gasoline from tanks into vehicles at each and every GAS STATION where the vehicle drives in, only catch is to keep GASOLINE in the vehicle.
Inverters such as the 3,000 Watt unit which provides 110 from 12 Volts with proper fusing can also pull water from deep wells or shallow wells which is POTABLE and used for drinking, fire fighting, washing and filling tanker trucks to take to the public areas in any emergency. Inverters also allow powering several 250WATT flood lights and even run a microwave oven for food or heating of water.
I urge each and every person to make this information KNOWN to the Government Officials and any and all on any thread or via word of mouth before another KATRINA comes to the United States or 911 ATTACK cripples our Nation and those responders cannot communicate with the local people. We keep over 150 gallons of distilled water for emergency use plus food and flashlights and even LIGHT STICKS for emergency ATTIC USE if needed due to high water. IT MAY SAVE YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW!
