Thanks, Sharon and Darren, for letting me know. But how it hurts!!!

There will never, ever, ever, be another Sherman Skolnick. He was one of a kind in so many ways. A dear friend, a dear bother always in the most passionate, even obsessive, quest for truth and justice and remediation. But he, "a rare bird" as I always jokingly called him on our many lengthy calls and radio interviews, truly put himself 7/24 on the line. He suffered the many painful and often terrible consequences of sacrifice, for the good of society's most downtrodden in many spheres. He fought non-stop to uncover some of the most grotesque incidents of judicial corruption and much more. He so dearly loved his country and felt deep sympathy and sorrow for its people marching towards systems of State corruption and disintegration, most of them unwittingly. He had such a way with his selfless giving of that mighty mind and powerful voice, which would not be silenced or stilled. Now he is gone and his space is hugely empty and terrible.

He gave the crooks and treasonous rats, Hell! And lived an incredible, humor filled life doing it. Now the dear one is gone and I will never again hear his words of wisdom and encouragement. Long live Sherman Skolnick!

Yes, there were many ambiguities about some of his reports. But knowing him personally for some years, I was privy to the reasons why he could not, and loyally would not, name his sources. He often also paid dearly for not revealing his sources. His life was often in danger. It meant nothing to him. I loved him dearly as a friend and a mentor.

Personally I remain inconsolable since I found out about his passing yesterday. So, with that ceaseless weeping of grief, I'll close by making a monumental understatement, Sherman Skolnick will be sorely missed and never replaced.
