But mostly I felt embarrassment that America is represented by this man. Think about it. The entire world was watching – most of whom hate us – and the best we can do is George W. Bush. How disheartening. In fact, even with all the softball questions being lobbed at the president, I actually felt stupid by the end of his press conference, as if I had been deliberately dumbed-down. This guy was so slow, and suffered from so many time-lags in delivery, that I wouldn’t be surprised if he wore an earpiece and was receiving telepathic messages from Karl Rove. The only problem was, somehow the transmitter wasn’t working properly, so W. had to wait for each response to come, which explains the long pauses and his whimsical gazes into never-never land.Anyway, here we have a man who calls himself “the ultimate decision-maker for this country.” With that in mind, what pearls of wisdom emerged from his mouth? Here is a sampling of a few of his quotes:1) When asked about the infamous August 6, 2001 Presidential Daily Briefing: “I was dealing with terrorism a lot.” Get it - a lot!2) On the casualties being suffered in Iraq: “Nobody likes to see dead people on their TV set. I don’t.”3) World hunger: “We have an obligation to feed the hungry.” If this sentiment were actually true, why have we spent $160 billion in the last two years on death and destruction rather than on feeding people? If we spent even 10% of that amount on the needy, there wouldn’t be one person dying of hunger.4) Deception: “A country that hides things is a country that is afraid of getting caught.” Who was he referring to - Saddam Hussein, or his own administration and the 9-11 cover-up which is taking place?5) Our enemy: “The Iraqi people are not happy because they are occupied.” That’s profound.6) Mid-east oil: “Oil revenues are bigger at this point than we thought they would be.” If that’s the case, why don’t you let a little bit of that supposed gravy flow down to us, rather than letting all the oil companies and defense contractors suck it up? We’re tired of paying $1.80 - $2.30 for a gallon of gasoline.7) Finally, and this was the best one of all. When asked about the absence of any Weapons of Mass Destruction, Bush replied, “They could still be there, like 50 tons of mustard gas on a turkey farm.” What he should have said was, “I know Saddam had WMDs. How did I know? Because my daddy still has the receipts!”Yes, George Bush is a very fluent public speaker … at least in his own particular language. But where were the questions about our painfully prolonged military stand-down on the morning of 9-11, this nation’s upcoming draft, or how he and John Kerry are members of Skull & Bones? Of course our lap-dog corporate media only scratched the surface (as if they were checking for fleas), but that’s all part of the plan, as was Bush’s inept performance. Isn’t it clear what took place? Bush is getting pushed out (even conservative commentators are turning on him), so they scripted him to be even more “publicly stupid” than he already is. After all, we can’t lose sight of the fact that this is nothing more than the New World Order’s version of professional wrestling.Bush the Figurehead did allow a few glimmering insights into the psyche of this administration, though, which reflected the neo-con’s true nature. The first occurred when W. mentioned conspiracy theories once again. He has done this on several occasions, which is indicative of how this secretive little cabal is very conscious (and worried) about what we’re writing about them. Secondly, the neo-cons repeatedly speak about how much they want freedom and democracy for the Iraqi people, yet these very same individuals DESPISE Arabs with such a seething passion that I’ve heard them personally referred to as filthy blood-sucking dogs that deserved to be nuked to kingdom come. Their intellectual dishonesty is appalling.Other than that, President Bush didn’t specifically mention any mistakes that his cabinet had made, didn’t offer any apologies for 9-11 (as some people had expected), and most importantly, he perpetuated the status quo party line of the Muslims-Osama bin Laden being behind 9-11, while Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Powell, Ashcroft, Tenet, Freeh, Wolfowitz, and all the rest “just didn’t know.” Likewise, our puppeteer press didn’t even remotely allude to government involvement in the September 11th attacks, or alternative motives for the perpetual war we are currently engaged in. I don’t know about you, but shouldn’t we as a people expect more than a nepotism-graced president, and a media that is handcuffed by rampant cowardice? It sure would be nice. -- Thank you, Be seeing you.In the Village.#6 Heads Up: (pardon my Falluja Michael Moore, Wed Apr 14 19:22 Re: Heads Up... from Michael Moore Sallie, Thu Apr 15 19:22 TTIC = Strengthening Intelligence to Better Protect America RESEARCHER, Wed Apr 14 15:15 "The question remains: who is in charge of intelligence?"
