MINUTEMAN PROBLEM EMERGES

This is the problem with the Minuteman Project:

Only one in five illegal border crossers is caught, according to the Border Patrol (they're quite pleased it's down from 1 in 8). That's 150,000 illegal crossers caught from October to February. The other half million are collecting benefits, education, medical care, etc. at my expense and yours, without paying taxes (they can't, since they must hide).

60,000 "OTMs" caught last year (Other Than Mexicans, a Border Patrol term). 650 of the arrested were from countries on terrorism watch lists (Homeland Security), and again, that's only one of every five. We catch numerous felons, who have already been caught and sent back, coming across again. If these figures were more prominently covered, we'd be ousting members of Congress.

Your local news outlets haven't been covering that, have they? Ours generally aren't. The amount of illegal traffic is stunning, ask any rancher down there who endures it.

The gaggle of news crews, crawling like sycophants over the Minutemen, could instead go to other smuggling corridors, and film streams of people coming in all day and all night. That's where most of the action is, now that the Minutemen have bottled up 24 miles near Naco. Now THAT would be reporting on the border problem, instead of fawning on demonstrators. Have you notice how many of their stories begin with, "The government announced today that..."?

I hear that the reporters, who outnumber the Minutemen, are basically hanging out in the watering holes, waiting "for something to happen." These bigots hang out waiting for some honest guy to make a mistake, and avoid the very story they are supposedly there to cover -- the massive incursion of foreign nationals taking place unchecked, ignored or denied by the government, and pointed out by plain Joes.. Oh, I forgot, the ethics issue is -- "Ten tips that will help you work better with political figures."

In the long run, I feel positive about it all.
That's just me.

VERMONT

You may recall that I'm encouraging people nationwide to write a book about the gun laws in their state. This has helped produce books for several states so far, most recently Michigan and Ohio. And now, I have Vermont!

People talk of "Vermont carry," with awe, because Vermont has the best gun laws in the nation. Most of us have no real idea of what that is. Attorney Cindy Hill has risen to the challenge by documenting for us all, just what those laws are, in plain English. Just wonderful. Details on my site.

WOMEN'S ISSUES

Women Having Fun With Guns

Men have been longing for a way to tell their women that guns are fun, and get them more involved. "Babes With Bullets" is by a woman, and about women who started shooting later in life -- for the fun of it! Debbie started at 45!

Author Debbie Ferns broke through the myths and taboos, and shares loads of stories of similar women -- even Sandy Froman, the next president of the NRA. It is nothing short of exhilarating.

Anti-rights advocates now have a tough new adversary -- women. "Babes With Bullets" changes the landscape.

"Babes With Bullets" is a normative approach to guns -- right up there with manicures and selecting your shoes. Gone is the coarse gun-rights stuff the men are often swimming in. But the right to go out and have all this fun, and to own firearms in the first place, and to protect your family in an emergency, is present throughout the book.

A vigorous gun-savvy women's network is growing, and it is powerful stuff. Businesses are responding to the buying power of the women. Politicians are hard pressed to ignore the women. The incoming president of the NRA is a woman. Women like Susan Long are running shooting conferences for women. The "Divas" are now more than 800 strong. Women are helping to turn the tide on radical anti-rights gun bigotry our nation faces. The gun haters and hoplophobes don't know what to make of women with real guns.

I loved "Babes With Bullets," and we have it in stock ready to ship. You may see it in stores soon. Get one for yourself now -- or for someone you know...

NEWS-MEDIA ETHICS BATTLE IS OVER

... because there are no ethics. I've been campaigning for a vigorous look at serious ethical problems during so-called "Ethics Week." The lead story in the journalism trade mag The Quill for ethics week is, "Conflicts of Interest a Part of Life," and the closing story is "Get Public Officials to Help You: Ten tips that will help you work better with political figures." I'm not making this up. I'll have details on my site soon, use the blue News Accuracy button.
