The emphasis by some on the need for a LIVING WILL, though having one makes sense, detours people away from thinking about what has REALLY BEEN HAPPENING is THIS particular Terri Schiavo tragedy. In THIS special situation, it seems NOT about a "brain dead" disabled person being DENIED her "right" to die (Michael never even mentioned her supposed "wishes" until 7 years later), It may be more about a frightened man who (now impossible to prove or disprove) MAY have attempted murder, freeing himself from ever being exposed in the future, if Terri, through therapy, MIGHT recover enough to tell about it.
Along with my wife, Noelle, I was a professional Scientologist in the 1950s and 1960s, until we became disillusioned and resigned. That said, please read the following...

THE TOO-LATE DISCOVERY OF SCIENTOLOGY'S DOMINATING ROLE IN BRINGING ABOUT THE DEATH OF TERRI SCHIAVO...
Whether Michael Schiavo and/or his "right to die" promoting lawyer Felos have been intimately involved with Scientology is still unknown.
But Terri Schiavo was ordered dehydrated (and starved) to death by Michael Schiavo, Lawyer Felos and Judge Greer - and strongly supported by lawyers representing the Florida Scientology headquarters.
Terri was disabled - but was not brain dead, was not an unconscious, unfeeling "vegetable" as widely and wrongly believed.
Strangely ignored by Judge Greer and subsequent reviewing courts, Terri's Hospice nurses in 1998 (one under oath) testified they were feeding Terri by mouth, she enjoyed it and COULD swallow - until Michael Schiavo caught them, labeled their hand feeding "therapy" and ordered them to ONLY use a feeding tube - or lose they jobs. Stimulating music - and physical motion therapy by these nurses on Terri's arms and leg muscles was also stopped by Michael Schiavo. Terri's limbs gradually weakened and withered. Terri could feel pain and discomfort and was able to inform the nurses about it with arm motions and sounds.
Even on her death bed her priest testified she responded to him and his directed prayers with eye motions.
Also, the still largely UNreported ZOGBY POLL below, following these comments, indicates that EARLIER national polls, widely published by most major media (aside from FOX) were misleading. A large majority of Americans did NOT want Terri starved to death!

APPARENTLY THE LAWYERS REPRESENTING FLORIDA SCIENTOLOGY HEADQUARTERS STRONGLY INFLUENCED THE HOSPICE AND JUDGES TO REMOVE TERRI'S WATER AND FOOD TUBE...
Until now, there have been NO reports by the TV networks and most other major media, that the prominent Lawyers representing the nearby Scientology headquarters in Florida (12 miles away), have been cheering supporters of Judge Greer, urging him to end Terri's life!
The Scientology headquarters organization has "taken over the city of Clearwater" according to its former Mayor, echoed by its former Police Chief, implying that area Business leaders, the Bar Association, Police and Judges have become obedient to the wishes of the Scientologists.
I am not some outside detractor attacking the "philosophy" of Scientology. I was an idealistic and dedicated licensed Scientologist from 1955 through the early 1960's - until my wife Noelle (also a licensed Scientologist) and I became convinced the overall BENEFITS of Scientology (at that time) were GREATLY EXAGGERATED.
In our opinion, the benefits from Scientology "Processing," (mental drills), were simply not worth the ever increasing financial strain and all-consuming time involved for both Patients (pre-Clears) and licensed Practitioners.
In 1955 the overall (noble) themes and motivation of Scientologists was "The Creation of Human Ability" - and - (through Scientology's effective mental drills), "Making the Able More Able."
For a time in 1955 I also volunteered to work at Scientology's (then main) headquarters in Washington. D.C. That was when Scientology was relatively small, financially poor and salaries paid were a pittance. Today Scientology has spread across the world and headquarters organizations have grown powerful through wealth, with teams of highly paid lawyers both defending Scientology in courts - and advancing the current Scientology leaders' agendas (as in Florida, influencing the Terri Schiavo tragedy).
Over subsequent decades, especially after the strange disappearance of founder L. Ron Hubbard and his unannounced death, Scientology (under the direction of unknown forces) appears to have greatly changed from what I remember in those idealistic and more "nobly" motivated earlier years of the 1950s and early 1960s.

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Polls leading up to the death of Terri Schiavo made it appear Americans had formed a consensus in favor of ending her life. However, a new Zogby poll with fairer questions shows the nation clearly supporting Terri and her parents and wanting to protect the lives of other disabled patients.
A whopping 79 percent said the patient should not have food and water taken away while just 9 percent said yes.

The St. Petersburg Times and the Tampa Tribune had filed suit for the release of the abuse summaries, which covered 89 reports - the Times said Friday.
But state Judge George Greer ruled Friday the records belong to DCF, and although Terri Schiavo's husband can have access to the abuse files, the records cannot be made public, The Associated Press reported.
The allegations were based partly on bone scans showing Terri Schiavo suffered fractures, as well as statements she made to family and friends that she was unhappy in her marriage, the AP reported Friday.

New Order Has Nothing to Do With Medical Treatment"
Judge Greer's February 25, 2005 order is not directed toward people with feeding tubes, people on "artificial life support," or people receiving medical treatment. Judge Greer's order is not directed toward those who cannot swallow food and thus need "assisted" nutrition and hydration.
It is a matter of court record that Terri can swallow but that is not the reason she is entering her sixth day of dehydration and is beginning to look more and more like Lisa McPherson did after she was dehydrated to death at the hands of her Scientology captors.
Terri is being dehydrated because Judge Greer issued a BRAND NEW and Hemlock-Society-approved court order that is not confined to individuals who need feeding tubes to sustain their lives.

Judges are impartial, right? Not Judge George Greer, the judge that has ordered Terri Schiavo executed by starvation and dehydration, twice.
Our good ole boy judge has worked side by side as county commissioner with Barbara Sheen Todd (county commissioner) for eight years. Barbara Sheen Todd is on the board of, you guessed it, the hospice where Terri Schiavo is kept prisoner by her husband, Michael Schiavo, who lives with another woman that he has two children with.
Also, Judge Greer's fellow judge, Judge John Lenderman is the brother of Martha Lenderman, also on the, you got it, the same hospice board.

Greer is "passing the test" with flying colors because he is permitting Michael Schiavo to abuse, exploit and neglect his disabled wife in defiance of the Florida statutes. And the Clearwater Bar Association cheers.
Several years ago I received a phone call from L. Ron Hubbard's former son-in-law, who later sent a binder notebook four inches thick, filled with news clippings, court transcripts, etc. detailing criminal activities -- including theft of personal property/funds and murder -- by leading members of the Church of Scientology. It happened in Florida.

I saw them (Scientology) BLEED my brother for AUDITING and watched as they USED him in the Sea Org. Suffice it to say, I am NOT an ABIRATED PERSON who easily becomes ANTI anyone's religion. However when you see the sums of money they STOLE from my Brother and NOW know he lives a less than desirable existence because of their SWINDLE it sort of makes you wonder. The Pinellas County Probate Judge Greer and I had difference of opinion as well. My brother receives a retirement check from the US Navy and is under a TOTAL GUARDIANSHIP issued from Greer's Court. When I discovered LARGE AMOUNTS of money being WITHHELD from my brothers care, I sought to do to it he received a WEEKLY check, less any legitimate living expenses and less a Guardianship CUT.
