THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION CRUMBLES BEFORE OUR EYES

The entire US Department of Justice has been brought to its knees
because a couple Senators asked a couple questions. Goes to show just
how pathetic this house of cards Bush calls a government truly is under
his rule.

VIDEO: Gonzales gets wrapped up in his own web of lies

yesterday.

White House *pleads the Fifth http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17801652/

But you can't just cop the Fifth

don't like Democrats or you're afraid that you'll lie under oath...try
simply not lying!

The Fifth Amendment

The House follows the *Senate's overwhelming 94-2 vote* to strip the
clause out of the Patriot/Enabling Act
http://www.speaker.gov/blog/?p=177 that allows Bush to appoint US
Attorneys without conformation or oversight. The final tally: 329-78.

And the White House has likely been *sidestepping*

archival process by using RNC email accounts. Overseer extraordinaire
Henry Waxman (D-CA) less than pleased. It's been reported that *Karl
Rove does 95% of his emailing with RNC accounts

BREAKING | Senate Keeps Pullout Date in Iraq War Bill
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/032707Z.shtml

The Senate defeated an attempt to erase an American troop
withdrawal date from an Iraq spending bill this afternoon
after an emotional debate about the powers of the presidency
and Congress and the well-being of front-line soldiers.

========================================

The Bush administration and Attorney General Gonzales don't want to
testify to Congress under oath. Congress is ready to subpoena them to
force them to testify. Bush threatens a constitutional showdown if they
do. Can a compromise be reached? Is there a way that Gonzales and Rove
can be questioned in a way that the Bush administration would approve of?

Bush and Gonzales have vigorously defended the use of secret prisons in
foreign countries as a way of getting to the truth. Both have stated to
Congress that they are totally legal, that they are not torture, and
that they are effective. So maybe we should send Gonzales and Rove to a
secret foreign prison for questioning. How could they object to that? I
bet the Democrats would go along with that.
